Just before the 2025 U.S. Open, Phil Mickelson dropped a 7-word NSFW message towards the grass mowers at the Oakmont course in Pennsylvania. He would blast the course management in a tweet on X.
Ahead of the event, a video shared on X by NUCLR Golf featured lawn mowers cutting the grass at the course. They could be seen using lawn mowers to cut the grass in their preparation for this major championship event.

Mickelson, though, did not seem to be a fan of this. The 6-time major champion is highly active on social media and has often shared his thoughts regarding golf and other topics.
On Wednesday, the LIV Golf star would take a swipe at the lawn mowers. He would react to this video shared by NUCLR Golf and vent his frustrations towards the workers.
They’re not working. They’re not cutting sh!t

The Oakmont course is one of the toughest courses in the world. Even before the tournament began, players expressed concern regarding the greens of this course.
Mickelson was himself seen struggling in the practice round. In another video shared by NUCLR Golf, the “Lefty” was seen struggling to get his ball out of the rough and onto the green. Given the fact that many consider Mickelson as a short game expert, this was a concerning sign for the golfers.

Meanwhile, reigning Masters Champion Rory McIlroy informed that he shot a score of 81 in the practice round last week. After missing the cut at the RBC Canadian Open with one of his worst finishes on the PGA Tour, the Northern Irish golfer carded such a high score in the practice round. Despite that high score, McIlroy claimed that he felt “good” about his game.
Phil Mickelson once again recently got blasted by popular golf analyst
A few days ago, Phil Mickelson once again found himself getting blasted by a popular golf analyst. Once again, he got blasted due to his ties with LIV Golf.

The analyst is none other than Brandel Chamblee. The Golf Channel analyst has many times lashed out at Mickelson and his LIV Golf league.
In his recent swipe, he would attack him and other LIV Golf stars. The analyst claimed that they purely play for the money.
Phil Mickelson has mastered the public art in which self-righteousness congratulates the celebrator. He and his LIV compatriots, all of them subject to the dramatic irony of having resigned themselves to play purely for money – not for history or for their respective countries – but purely for money

A few days later, Anthony Kim would come to the defense of Mickelson and lash out at Chamblee. He would make a personal attack on the analyst while supporting the veteran golfer and his league.
We all can like or dislike whoever we want but at least @PhilMickelson kids still talk to him. Have a great @usopengolf brandy

2025 U.S. Open could be last one for Phil Mickelson
Phil Mickelson is one of the top names that will participate in the upcoming U.S. Open tournament. A week before this event, he made a surprising comment and claimed that this could be the last time he plays in the U.S. Open.

This is the one major event that he has not won in his career. With a staggering 6 runner-up finishes in this event, the HyFlyers GC Captain has been stuck with three legs of a career grand slam.
In the press conference of LIV Golf Virginia, the 54-year-old was asked by the media whether this would be his last quest to win his national open. The golfer expressed that he had not thought about it but there is a high likelihood that it will.
I haven’t thought about it too much. There’s a high likelihood that it will be but I haven’t really thought about it too much.
🚨🇺🇸👍🏻 #FINAL TIME? — Phil Mickelson acknowledged that this year’s U.S. Open at Oakmont could be his last: “I haven't thought about it too much. There's a high likelihood that it will be, but I haven't really thought about it too much.” pic.twitter.com/25HSDo6UyB

The World Golf Hall of Famer is currently in the final year of his exemption from the U.S. Open, which he got from winning the PGA Championship in 2021. Given that he would be 55 next year and might need to go through the qualifying rounds to play, there is a high chance that this could be his last appearance in this major tournament.
