Embiid scored 2 points for the 76ers in their victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Having missed 10 games due to bone bruise in his left knee, this was Embiid’s first taste of action since March 12.
Without Joel Embiid, the Philadelphia 76ers have lost their #1 spot in the Eastern Conference to Brooklyn Nets and were 7-3 during his absence. The four-time All-Star is averaging 29.9 points and 11.5 rebounds in 31 games this season. The MVP candidate has missed a total of 16 games with back and knee injuries this season.

Talking about this particular game between Minnesota Timberwolves and Philadelphia 76ers, Tobias Harris led the way for the home team and scored 32 points. Four starters scored in double digits for the 76ers, wherein Ben Simoons had 14 and Seth Curry added 13. Whereas Shake Milton came off from the bench to score 14 points.
Minnesota Timberwolves was led by Karl Anthony Towns who scored game-high 39 points and also had 14 rebounds against his name. Rookie of the year contender Anthony Edwards also seemed impressive registering 27 points.
After this win, the Philadelphia 76ers have matched Brooklyn Nets with the same win % at .694 and have grabbed their #1 spot in the Eastern Conference yet again. With Milwaukee Bucks right on the throat of these two teams, a loss could be pivotal for dropping from the #1 spot. Whereas for the Minnesota Timberwolves, they continue to be the worst NBA team in the 2020-21 season with .240 win % and would be facing the Sacramento Kings next.
