Despite playing with Tom Brady, Phillip Dorsett calls Andrew Luck the most talented quarterback he has ever played with
Luck had all the makings of a successful NFL quarterback.

When the conversation of the greatest quarterback to ever play football pops up, there is only one undisputed name that reigns at the top of the list, that is Tom Brady. The seven-time Super Bowl winner is considered the best quarterback, and one of the most hard-working players to ever play the game. All of his teammates who have played alongside him testify that he is the greatest person they stepped on the field with.
However, Phillip Dorsett begs to differ on this matter. The former New England Patriots wide receiver is of the opinion that although Brady was one of the best teammates he has had, the most talented quarterback he has played for in his career was former Indianapolis Colts star Andrew Luck.
In his recent appearance on The money down podcast, Phillip Dorsett made a case for Luck to be a better QB than Brady in terms of talent.
I always say this to everybody. People ask me, because they know I played with Tom. 'who was the best quarterback you played with?' To be honest, when it comes to talent, it was Andrew Luck...talent wise, man Andrew was different! Bruh, Andrew was different! He was just a natural born leader. He was still young and the way he carried himself, you would think this man is a ten year vet.Phillip Dorsett said
Luck was undoubtedly a great talent. Despite his short-lived NFL career, the quarterback set the tone from his rookie year by breaking the record for most passing yards by a rookie.
Andrew Luck announced his retirement in August 2019
Luck came out of college as a hyped prospect. He had no shortage of talent and was a sturdy quarterback who could run the ball and throw effectively. He was built to take big hits. Luck was gifted with one of the best arms the NFL has seen. He quickly became a loved and respected figure in Indianapolis, as he was not just elite but a humble and down-to-earth person.
Andrew Luck was the gold standard for the franchise quarterback. He carried himself professionally and was a great leader in the locker room, as he led by example. Luck was consistent in working out, never got into any trouble, and did his job to the best of his ability. Fans tend to forget how good he was initially, as his career was ultimately short-lived because of injuries.
Dorsett acknowledged that if not for his injuries, Luck would have undoubtedly established himself as an all-time great.
He was tough as hell...had a strong arm, was smart, was accurate. It's just injuries bro. It's football.Phillip Dorsett added
The hits that he had been taking since college ultimately got to him. Luck quickly found himself sitting on the sidelines owing to repeated injuries. After multiple surgeries and repeated rehab, the quarterback decided to take the decision to walk away from the game in 2019 for the best interest of his mental health.

When fans talk about Tom Brady, more than his talent, he is associated with a strong work ethic. Brady was not an anomaly. He worked hard to develop his arm strength. However, the same cannot be said with Andrew Luck. The quarterback was built differently. He had all the makings of a one-of-one prototype that the NFL had never seen before.
