Nobody would have predicted that a young Slovenian coming into the NBA would have such a huge impact on the league. Now, fans regard Luka Doncic as one of the best NBA players in the current generation. So much so that, artists revealed a colorful mural honoring the newest Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic lately.

Arutyun Gozukuchikyan brought a painting by Luka Doncic to life in shades he never would have thought possible with each spray can stroke. Also, Gozukuchikyan added another mural to the city’s collection of ones commemorating Kobe Bryant. This one paid tribute to the Lakers legend by welcoming a player who many believe will be the next one: Luka Doncic.

In the mural, Doncic can be seen celebrating wildly after scoring a basket. The Lakers fans believe Doncic is the ‘next face’ of the franchise once LeBron James calls it quits on the sport. Nobody thought they would see Doncic in purple and gold but this is the NBA. Additionally, the February deadline saw one of the biggest trade deals in the history of the league.

In addition, the Mavericks traded Doncic to the Lakers in exchange for their star defender Anthony Davis, leaving the NBA community stunned. It’s safe to say that, the Lakers were the clear winners of this deal. Doncic has been significant in attack for the Lakers this season, finishing 3rd seed with his side.

Alongside LeBron James and Austin Reaves, the 3 stars are causing havoc against opposition in the league. No wonder Doncic has been awarded with a mural of his own in Los Angeles. Now, Doncic and Co. will be focusing on the upcoming NBA Playoffs and will be looking to go all the way this season.

Luka Doncic got a bold recognition by former Lakers involving Lakers great Kobe Bryant

Luka Doncic, a superstar, is a welcome addition to the Los Angeles Lakers. Since joining the Lakers, Doncic has flourished. One former Lakers player and Doncic’s countryman Sasha Vujacic likened Doncic to one of the team’s greatest legends, the late Kobe Bryant because of how good he is playing.

 I’ll be honest, I watch him play, and he might be the only one that reminds me of a little bit more than anybody else of Kobe.’

These words come out by Vujacic sates Doncic’s significance for the Lakers side since he arrived back in February. Bryant and Vujacic played together for the Lakers during their back-to-back championship runs in 2009–2010. There are some striking parallels between Bryant and Doncic, he feels. Only time will tell, how far Doncic takes the Lakers in his time at the franchise.

Luka Doncic opened up on Lakers’ NBA title chances

With a No.3 seed finish to the regular 2024-25 NBA season, the Los Angeles Lakers and their HC JJ Redick will be more than satisfied with his result. However, with the likes of Luka Doncic, LeBron James, and Austin Reaves, they will be looking to go all out in the NBA Playoffs. Notably, Doncic opened up on Lakers’ NBA title chances.

That’s our only goal(winning the 2025 NBA title). I think we have the team to do it.

For the first time since Phil Jackson’s final season as coach in 2010–11, the Lakers will begin the playoffs with a home game. They will have James, the all-time top playoff point scorer, and Doncic, the second-best postseason scoring average player, heading into the first round.
