Portugal vs Turkey: Portugal face Turkey in the 2nd Round Semi Finals of the UEFA World Cup Qualification at the Estadio do Dragao, Porto, Portugal.
First half belonged to Portugal as Otavio scored the opener after Bernardo Silva’s shot hit the woodwork and came back into play. The lead was doubled just before half time through a thumping header from Diogo Jota.
Turkey came back strong and played some attractive football in the second half. Burak Yilmaz brought them back through well created goal. But he could not convert a late penalty which could have taken the game into extra time. Portugal sealed the victory when Matheus Nunes scored in the stoppage time.

Diogo Costa (7.1/10): Costa made 4 saves in the match and distributed the ball well. He could not keep a clean sheet though.
Diogo Dalot (6.9/10): Dalot had a decent match at the right back position, although he gave away a couple of loose balls.
Danilo Pereira (6.7/10): Pereira played as center back, out of his usual defending midfielder position. He filled the new role pretty well.
Jose Fonte (6.6/10): The veteran was called in the squad due to notable big absentees. His experience was evident as he marshalled the back line well. He made an error which resulted in a penalty.
Raphael Guerreiro (7.6/10): Guerreiro was vital on the left flank. His crosses and passing was instrumental in the victory.
Bruno Fernandes (6.4/10): Fernandes had a reasonable match in the midfield. He was replaced by William Carvalho in the latter half of the game.
Joao Moutinho (7.3/10): Moutinho distributed the ball well and his passing was pin perfect going forward. He got booked late in the second half for a harsh challenge.
Bernardo Silva (7.8/10): Silva was creative with the ball at his feet and made some crucial passes. His shot in the first half hit the woodwork and ricocheted to Otavio, who scored.
Otavio (8.5/10): Otavio had an exceptional match. He scored Portugal’s opening goal and provided a beautiful assist to Diogo Jota.
Diogo Jota (8/10): Jota scored an exceptional header low into the bottom corner to double Portugal’s lead. He was replaced by Joao Felix in the second half.
Cristiano Ronaldo (7/10): Ronaldo’s footballing skills were on full display as he showcased his range of skillful passing and tricks, but could not end up on the scoresheet.

Joao Felix (6.8/10): Felix came on for Jota and made a few good passes. He could have got an assist if Ronaldo had scored in the last kick of the game.
William Carvalho (6.3/10): Carvalho had a decent game and did his defensive duties well.
Matheus Nunes (6.9/10): Nunes came on in the dying minutes and scored Portugal’s third goal.
Rafael Leao (6.7/10): Leao registered an assist to his name having played just a handful of minutes.

Ugurcan Cakir (6/10): Cakir faced 8 shots and saved 5 of them. But he could not save Turkey from a defeat.
Ozan Kabak (7/10): Kaban was good at the back as he made some crucial last-minute challenges and blocks.
Merih Demiral (6.2/10): Demiral had an average game as a center back. He was also booked late in the game for pulling Otavio down.
Caglar Soyuncu (6.1/10): Soyuncu could have been better as well. He too was not able to stop Portugal’s forwards.
Mehmet Zeki Celik (6.1/10): Celik was mediocre on the right flank. He could not produce quality balls from the wing and was defensively not spot on as well.
Berkan Kutlu (6.3/10): Kutlu was decent on the left flank. He was replaced by Tokoz late in the second half.
Orkun Kokcu (7/10): Kokcu made some good passes in the middle and distributed the ball well to feed the forwards.
Hakan Calhanoglu (7.4/10): Calhanoglu was the most fouled player in the match. His quick feet and presence in midfield were notable.
Kerem Akturkoglu (6.5/10): Akturkoglu had a reasonable match in Porto. He was replaced by Unal early in the second half.
Cengiz Under (7.8/10): Under was the most creative and arguably Turkey’s best player on the pitch. He provided the assist for Turkey’s only goal.
Burak Yilmaz (7.3/10): The skipper scored a goal in the match, but his penalty miss late in the second half was the headline of the match.

Enes Unal (6.6/10): Unal came on for Akturkoglu and was energetic in the field. He won a penalty for Turkey which was not converted.
