Samantha Irvin joined WWE in 2021 as a ring announcer for 205 Live and was promoted to the main roster the next year. She recently announced some news that was heartbreaking to many of her fans. Irvin was parting ways with WWE in search of greener pastures. Although she did not provide a reason for her actions, fans have finally gotten some more clarity behind this decision.

According to PWInsider, Irvin did not leave WWE to become an in-ring announcer for AEW. In fact, she is not expected to be working in the professional wrestling industry for a long time. Earlier reports had also suggested that the departing WWE employee wanted to continue her career in music. If she is not going to be working in the wrestling business anymore, resuming her singing career is likely her next move.

Samantha Irvin got engaged to Ricochet in January 2023. Thus, many fans had assumed that Irvin had only parted ways with WWE to join AEW. The inaugural Speed Champion’s contract with the Stamford-based promotion expired earlier this year. He chose not to renew and debuted in AEW at All In. Many expected his fiance to follow suit.

The 35-year-old’s replacement was announced on the latest episode of Raw. Lilian Garcia made her return to WWE on Monday to act as the show’s ring announcer. Reportedly, she will be a permanent addition to the red brand. Although replacing someone who is as good as Irvin is hard, the 58-year-old has been a fan favorite for decades herself. Some even regard her as the best wrestling ring announcer of all time.

However, the 35-year-old herself confirmed on X that she had informed WWE about her leaving months in advance. Thus, they were able to find a replacement for her in time. The report continued to state that many were expecting her to leave the company once Ricochet left for AEW.

They claimed that her presence on Raw made their workday better. When asked about her going to AEW, the staff said that they would be shocked if Tony Khan did not approach her with an offer.
