Iga Swiatek burst onto the big stage after she captured her maiden Grandslam title at the French Open, this year. Swiatek became the youngest Women’s singles champion at the age of 19, since Monica Seles in 1992. She also became the first Polish woman to win a Grandslam event. Moreover, Swiatek won the French Open in style without dropping a single set, and not losing more than five games in any of her matches.

Recently, the Polish teenager did a Q&A session with her fans with her fans on Instagram and answered a few interesting questions. Swiatek has been out of action since the French Open and is currently training for the 2021 season.

One of the questions to Swiatek was whether she felt any changes in her game after her French Open title. The young Pole stated that she was proud of her achievement and the way she competed during the two weeks in Paris. However, she stated that in spite of making progress in her pre-season training, she has doubts over her performance in 2021, which will present new challenges in front of her.

“I’m proud of myself that I could perform well till the end of the tournament, and I was consistent every day for two weeks. Right now I think from tennis side I’m making progress and pre-season is looking better than ever. I have some doubts about my future performance because I’m gonna be in new situation, but I promised myself that I’m gonna give myself time.” answered Swiatek.

Iga Swiatek won the WTA Fan Favorite Singles Player of the Year and was also voted the WTA Most Improved Player. With some of the world’s best including the likes of Ashleigh Barty and Bianca Andreescu making their comebacks in 2021, Swiatek will definitely have to raise her level.
