Liverpool vs Manchester City

Manchester City vs Liverpool ended 1-1 at the Etihad stadium in the Premier League. First half goals from Mohammed Salah and Gabriel Jesus were the only ones scored.

Kevin De Bruyne missed a penalty as Manchester City and Liverpool both lose points in an important match.

First Half

Liverpool vs Manchester City got off to a flying start at the Etihad stadium. Both teams looked set to play some good attacking football. However it was Liverpool who got the first golden opportunity in the match.

Kyle Walker tumbled Sadio Mane over in the penalty box. Mohammad Salah stepped up and scored emphatically for the red’s. He joins Jamie Vardy and Dominic Calvert Lewin at the top of the score charts.

Manchester City found the equaliser through Gabriel Jesus with his quick feet and finish. Gini Wjinaldum dispossessed and the ball fell to Kevin De Bruyne who fed it to Gabriel Jesus. Jesus took the ball around Alexander Arnold with a lovely touch, and poked the ball into the net past Allison.

Manchester City were given the perfect chance to take the lead after Joe Gomez conceded a penalty. Kevin De Bruyne’s cross hit his hand in the box. After consulting with VAR a penalty was awarded. However astonishingly Kevin De Bruyne dragged the ball wide.

Second Half

Whereas the first half produced some sublime firepower, the second half was dull and boring. Both teams in an attempt to be cautious lost that cutting edge. Gabriel Jesus did have the best opportunity early in the half wherein he missed a clear header.

Jurgen Klopp had to make a change in the second half as Trent Alexander Arnold went down injured. James Milner was brought on to replace him. Salah did have a tough chance at the end but Cancello defended well. Kyle Walker received a yellow card for his tackle on Gini Wjinaldum.
