Premier League: Burnley vs Liverpool Player Ratings as the Reds get a narrow 1-0 victory

Burnley vs Liverpool: Burnley squared off against Liverpool at the Turf Moor Stadium in Matchday 21 of the ongoing edition of the Premier League.

Liverpool had more of the possession but the better chances fell for Burnley in the 1st half, but they were not able to capitalize on them. It came back to haunt them, as Liverpool took the lead in the 40th minute with Fabinho scoring from a rebound following a set piece situation.

In the 2nd half the game was pretty much equal, with Liverpool having more of the possession. Chances fell on both the ends, but both the teams were incapable to capitalize on them. At the end, Fabinho’s goal separated the two teams and Liverpool get all the 3 points.

Burnley

Nick Pope (6.4/10): The English Burnley goalkeeper made some excellent saves and was really pro-active in front of the goal. However, he was scored passed once by Liverpool.

Ben Mee (6.7/10): The English defender was really solid in the defensive today making some crucial tackles and challenges.

James Tarkowski (6.4/10): The Polish defender was also pretty solid in the defense line making stops and blocks but could have done a bit more.

Erik Pieters (6.5/10): The Dutch left-back had a decent performance tonight making good long passes and also making good tackles and challenges.

Connor Roberts (6.4/10): The Welsh right-back also had a fairly decent performance making some good runs and also making some good passes.

Josh Brownhill (6.9/10): The midfielder was absolutely world-class today as he played some excellent passes and made some brilliant interceptions. He also was able to shoot at the goal.

Ashley Westwood (6.7/10): The defensive midfielder was also pretty good in his performance today as he combined well with his teammates and controlled the tempo in the midfield.

Maxwel Cornet (6.5/10): The Ivorian winger made some good runs both on and off-ball into attacking areas and also made some good passes.

Aaron Lennon (6.4/10): The English winger had some bright moments in the 1st half but gradually became ineffective in the 2nd half. Overall, had satisfactory performance.

Wout Weghorst (6.5/10): The Dutch striker was much involved in pretty much all the chances created and made some good runs. He also got many opportunities but squandered all of them.

Jay Rodriguez (6.2/10): The English forward had a satisfactory performance making a few passes and some runs into attacking areas.

Substitutes:

Dwight McNeil (5/10): After coming on in the 62nd minute he could only manage a few passes and made some grounded crosses into the box. He also was fairly good on the ball.

Ashley Barnes (4/10): He looked to make some instant impact but as the game went on he proved to be pretty much unimpactful.

Alisson (6.8/10): The Brazilian goalkeeper had to make some really crucial saves to keep the clean sheet tonight and was alert on every occasion.

Virgil van Dijk (6.7/10): The Dutch center-back was pretty solid in the heart of the defense and made some good aerial clearances and tackles.

Joël Matip (6.7/10): The center-back had a pretty similar performance as his partner in defense making some good blocks and interceptions.

Andy Robertson (6.6/10): The Scottish international made some good passes and carried the ball well on the left flank. He also made some good off-the-ball movement.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (6.6/10): The English right-back was pretty decent in his performance for Liverpool tonight making some good long passes and crosses into the box.

Fabinho (7.4/10): The defensive midfielder had a pretty amazing performance tonight holding on to the ball and controlling the tempo in the midfield. He scored the only goal of the match following a rebound from a set-piece situation.

Naby Keita (6.7/10): The midfielder made some good movements off the ball apart from some good on-the-ball movement as well. He also made some good passes.

Jordan Henderson (6.5/10): The English midfielder had a fairly decent performance and made a few good passes and interceptions as well.

Roberto Firmino (6.6/10): The Brazilian center-forward had a very different role tonight as he dropped to receive balls and tried to create chances for the 2 forwards. Overall, had a decent performance.

Sadio Mané (6.7/10): The Senegalese forward was good on the ball and made some good passes as well. He also made some good runs into attacking areas.

Mohamed Salah (6.7/10): The Egyptian forward had a pretty good performance tonight carrying the ball with ease and making good passes and runs into the attacking areas.

Substitutes:

Thiago (5.6/10): The Spaniard came on at the hour mark and had a very ordinary performance making a few good passes and interceptions.

Diogo Jota (5/10): Jota did not have much of an impact on the game apart from some combinations and a few good runs into attacking areas.
