Premier League : Leicester City vs Crystal Palace Player Ratings as Patrick Viera’s men make stunning comeback

Crystal Palace made a brilliant comeback in the Premier League on Sunday evening to draw 2-2 with Brendan Rodgers’s Leicester City. Jamie Vardy and Kehechi Iheanacho scored in the first half but Patrick Viera made some smart substitutes. Michael Olisse and Patrick Schlupp scored the goals in the second half to salvage a point for Crystal Palace.

Here are the player ratings :

Leicester City

Vicente Guaita ( 6/10) – The Crystal Palace goalkeeper was not at his best tonight and was beaten on both occasions. However his distribution was much better tonight.

Marc Guehi (6/10)- The ex Chelsea defender was good in the air and won most of the aeriel duels. However he needs to improve his positioning.

Joachim Andersen (5/10)- The defender will be extremely disappointed with his performance tonight. Crystal Palace were dominating the ball when he gave away to Iheanacho who scored the goal.

Tyrick Mitchell (7/10)- Tyrick Mitchell was a bright spot for Crystal Palace today. The youngster was impressive in his play and went ahead with quite some ease.

Joel Ward (6/10)- The full back was getting some good deliveries into the box for the forwards. He put in a cross for Eduoard in the second half whose header went wide.

Luka Milivojevic (6/10)- The midfielder was the physical presence for Crystal Palace. He was putting in some extremely strong challenges to break up the Leicester City play.

James McArthur (6/10)- James McArthur as he is known for was dropping down below to receive balls and then play ahead. However he didn’t manage to form the link to the forward line today. The midfielder put in a rash challenge on Jamie Vardy in the second half.

Conor Gallagher (6/10)- The Chelsea youngster has loads of energy and was running all around. He even had a shot at goal in the first half but Schmeichel was up to it.

Odsonne Édouard (7/10)- Odsonne Eduoard was having some good combination with Conor Gallagher. He played a move interchange with Gallagher whose shot from outside the box was blocked. Moreover he had a shot off the post in the early stages of the second half

Wilfried Zaha (7/10)- The Ivory Coast international was the main man for Crystal Palace tonight. He got a good shot away from the left hand side which was saved by Kasper Schmeichel.

Jordan Ayew (6/10)- The number nine for Crystal Palace looked good at times but needs to find more consistency in his play. Ayew’s hold up play was very good today.

Substitutes

Michael Olisse (8/10) – the number 7 scuffed his shot the first time. But he got the opportunity on the rebound and converted with a left footed shot.

Patrick Schlupp (8/10) – Instant impact from eyt another Substitute by Patrick Viera. Schlupp was at the right place at the right time and nodded the ball into the net to bring Crystal Palace on level terms.

Kasper Schmeichel (7/10)- The Danish goalkeeper was called into action quite some times tonight but did well. He made a good save off Wilfred Zaha from a tight angle.

Jannik Vestergaard (6/10)- Vestergaard was finding it difficult at times to nick the ball off Ayew but did well to maneuver him. He needs to improve his physicality on occasions.

Caglar Söyüncü (7/10)- The Turkish defender was commanding for Leicester City and put in a great shift. He cleared the ball away at a vital point away from Eduoard.

Ryan Bertrand (6/10) – The fullback for Leicester City was full of energy tonight and covered a lot of ground. He got into good attacking positions.

Timothy Castagne (6/10)- The right back for Leicester City was given plenty to think about by Mitchell that’s for sure. However he held his ground and defended well.

Hamza Choudhury (5/10)- Not the finest performance from the midfielder that’s for sure. Hamza Choudhury gave the ball away far too cheaply at times and lost possession.

Youri Tielemans (6/10)- Tielemans was good ij controlling the play for Leicester City. The Belgian international had a crack at goal in the first half but his shot lacked conviction.

Harvey Barnes (7/10)- The forward made a good run and was picked out by Tielemans in the first half. He ran with the ball before playing a fine cross to Jamie Vardy who finished it off with ease.

Ademola Lookman (6/10)- Lookman played on the right hand side of the midfield today. However he wasn’t able to advance as much as he would’ve liked for Leicester City.

Jamie Vardy (8/10)- Jamie Vardy had only one touch in the fist twenty minutes but that didn’t deter him from scoring when required. Harvey Barnes played the pass and Vardy slotted the ball home at the far post.

Kelechi Iheanacho (8/10)- The Nigerian international scored the goal for Leicester City in the first half. Completely against the run of play Iheanacho got the ball from Anderson and them finished it off.

Substitutes

Boubacary Soumare( 5/10)- The Lille defensive midfielder came on for Hamza Choudhary. He could’ve blocked the goal from Olisse but failed to do so.

James Maddison (6/10)- The attacking midfielder was bright upon coming on. He drew in the foul from Anderssen after getting away on the counter attack.
