Premier League states rules as fans return to stadiums after lockdown

Fans will be returning to stadiums after the lockdown phase for the first time in the Premier League. The UK government had decided to delay the process after a second wave of Covid 19 hit the country.

The match between Manchester United and West Ham United will see the first of fans returning followed by the game at Stamford Bridge between Chelsea and Leeds United.

For now the Premier League has decided to accommodate 2000 fans per match inside the stadiums. However this number may increase depending on the fact if all necessary precautions are taken.

Before entering fans will have to go through a mandatory health check-up plus their temperature will also be recorded. All inside the stadium will ahve to wear a face mask and families will be allowed to sit in groups called ‘household bubbles’.

The statement from Premier League states

Fans can celebrate but should remain socially distanced from people outside their social bubble said the advice.

Hugging of other fans and high-fives should be avoided and fans are asked to be respectful to those around them, including avoiding excessive shouting or singing.”
