Premier League: Watford vs Brighton Player Ratings as the Seagulls win 0 – 2

Watford vs Brighton: Watford squared off against Brighton at the Vicarage Road in Matchday 6 of the ongoing edition of the Premier League.

Goals from Neal Maupay and Webster sealed the three points for Brighton. Graham Potter’s men are now touching distance from a European place. Watford on the other hand showed no signs of a fight. They are yet to score a goal under Roy Hodson.

Let’s take a look at the player ratings for Watford vs Brighton match:-

Watford vs Brighton Player Ratings

Watford

Ben Foster (8/10): Solid performance from Foster. Made some really crucial saves and kept Watford in the game for a long time.

Kiko (5/10): Arguably the worst out of the Watford backline. He did make an interception in the second half when the ball certainly looked like going in.

Cathcart (5/10): Cathcart was having a solid game until he played a direct part in Brighton’s second goal. He was unlucky as the ball bounced off him to the Brighton scorer.

Samir (4/10): Similar story to Cathcart. However, Samir was worse with his distribution.

Kamara (4/10): Started really well in his battle against Lamptey. The Brighton man got on top of him as the game went on.

Kucka (6/10): Was part of the couple of half-time changes made by Hodson. Kucka had a decent half but the manager wanted a different dynamic.

Sissoko (5/10): Was surprised that he was the one that stayed on and Kucka did not. Nevertheless, Sissoko had a better second-half.

Kayembe (5/10): Unlucky to have been hooked off at HT. Made 4 recoveries and was accurate going forward.

Cleverly (5/10): Was aware defensively. Lost a yard of pace as the game went on and was hooked.

Josh King (3/10): A poor poor performance from Josh King. He needs to step up his game if Watford wants to stay up.

Dennis (4/10): Invisible in the first half. Created a really good chance for himself in the second which was rattled off the crossbar.

Substitutes:

Louza (6/10): Provided that extra something that Watford needed to control the game. Did his job to an extent.

Sarr (5/10): Wasted many good attacks. However, made some really interesting runs.

Pedro (0/10): Not the impact Pedro would have wanted to make. He played 5 to 6 loose balls after coming on.

Brighton

Sanchez (6/10): Sanchez was always a suspect when it came to long balls. Got away with a couple of fumbles in the first half.

Veltmen (5/10): The worst performer from the Brighton team. Looked just off it from the get-go.

Dunk (8/10): Took an early yellow which complicated things for him. Managed the game well.

Webster (9/10): Solid defensively. Pocketed Josh King. Wrapped his brilliant evening up with a goal.

Lamptey (8/10): Lively as ever from Lamptey. He ran rings around the likes of Kamara and Cleverly.

Gross (7/10): Gross was half decent going forward but struggled defensively. Had a major fall-off in the second half.

Lallana (8/10): Lallana showed his superior technical qualities to control the game in the first half. Dropped off a bit in the second.

Cucurella (8/10): Started off poorly but ended up as one of the contenders for MOTM. Linked up well with Bissouma.

Moder (8/10): Calm and Composed throughout the game. Was safe with his passing and recycled the ball well.

Maupay (8/10): Scuffed his shot but the ball still managed to find its way past Foster.

Welbeck (4/10): Average outing from Welbeck. Failed to produce the link up with Maupay which many hoped.

Substitutes:

Bissouma (9/10): Bissouma played an instrumental part after coming on. Watford were knocking on the door before he calmed it down for Brighton.

Allister (7/10): Was a real asset off set pieces. Certainly an impactful sub from Graham Potter.

Duffy: NA
