Premier League: At the end of the Watford vs Tottenham Hotspur game, here are our Player Ratings.

Tottenham Hotspur changed their formation against Watford and featured more as an attacking unit. However, the change in formation did not yield any result in the first half. Though both teams attacked and had their moments, none of them scored. 

When it seemed that Watford are getting the first cleansheet of the season, Davinson Sanchez had other plans. He got the head to Son’s cross in the dying embers of the game to help his side register a win on the New Year Day at Vicarage Road.

Daniel Bachmann (7.4/10): The best player on the pitch for Watford, Daniel Bachmann saved Watford from embarrassment with his top-notch goalkeeping. He had eight saves to his name.

Craig Cathcart (6.5/10): The right-back kept Sergio Reguillon silent and helped his side in the game. Catchcart was poor in possession as he had just 70%.

William Troost-Ekong (6.7/10): Troost Ekong followed THFC forwards like a shadow and did not leave them any space to flex and score the goal. 

Francisco Sierralta (7.2/10): The central defender was a key man in the defense for his side against Tottenham. Sierralta put his body on the line and stopped THFC from scoring. 

Adam Masena (6.5/10): Adam Masena filled the left back role and perfectly executed the job that was assigned to him. He kept Heung Son Min at bay on Saturday.

Ken Sema (7/10): Playing on the left flank of the midfield, Sema utilized the start that was provided by the manager. He kept multiple stars of Tottenham at bay. 

Moussa Sissoko (6.5/10): If there is any player who failed to live up the hype in Hornets’ midfield, it is Sissoko. Against his former side, Sissoko had a dull game. 

Iman Louza (6.8/10): Two successful dribbles, four tackles and dirty work in the midfield. These were the characteristics of Louza against Tottenham Hotspur. 

Juraj Kucka (7/10): Juraj Kucka was one of the best players on the pitch for Watford. He won five+ aerial headers along with three successful dribbles.

Josh King (6.4/10): The former Manchester United player was active in the attack and came close to score the opener in the second half. However, Lloris denied him. 

Emmanuel Dennis (6.1/10): Claudio Raineri subbed the 24-year-old at half time owing to his poor performance on the pitch. He was subbed for Joao Pedro. 

Substitutes: 

Joao Pedro (6/10): Despite coming at the start of the second half, Pedro failed to leave any impression on the pitch for his side. He helped in transitions but could not deliver in the final third.

Emerson Royal was phenomenal for THFC

Hugo Lloris (6.5/10): The French shot-stopper and skipper of THFC, Lloris had a silent game as he had two pull out very few saves. 

Ben Davies (7/10): Ben Davies was the best amongst the defenders that featured for THFC. He had won four headers and two tackles.

Eric Dier (6.8/10): The English central defender dealt perfectly with Joao Pedro and Josh King whenever they threatened to score the goal. 

Davinson Sanchez (7.8/10): Sanchez walked like a shadow and stopped the opposition wingers and fullbacks from putting in difficult balls. He put the faintest of touches to score the goal in the final embers of the game. 

Emerson Royal (7.6/10): The best player on the pitch for THFC, Emerson Royal was a star performer. He did everything right in both attack and defense. He had three ball recoveries and created two chances for his side in the first half. 

Pierre Emile Hojbjerg (6.8/10): The midfield warrior was back for Tottenham and Antonio Conte and was key with his dirty work in the midfield. He had won a tackle and an aerial header to his name.

Olivier Skipp  (6.4/10): Not a great game for Skipp but it was not bad either. He received a yellow card for a bad foul in the second half. 

Sergio Reguillon (6.8/10): Though he was not as good as Royal, Reguillon was active on the right flank with his tackles and crosses. He had four tackles to his name before got subbed. 

Heung Min Son (7.5/10): Son was a dynamic and dangerous player on the pitch for THFC. He tried several shots on target but Bachmann made his life difficult. He helped his side to register all three points as he swung the ball beautifully to Sanchez to score the solitary goal of the game.

Harry Kane (7/10): The talismanic striker was found everywhere on the pitch. He tried to create the play from the deep when Watford dug deep. However, he could not find the back of the net.

Lucas Moura(7.3/10): One of the best players in the Tottenham setup, Moura was key for THFC against Watford. He created several chances for his side but Kane and Son failed to utilize the same.
