Anthony Joshua recently faced a devastating loss against Daniel Dubois during the fight night at Wembley Stadium. Following that, Joshua came under intense scrutiny. As such, several individuals, including Prince Naseem Hamed, criticized ‘AJ’ for his underwhelming performance. Hamed, in particular, even urged Joshua to take up retirement from pro-boxing.
Prince Naseem Hamed was one of the most dominating boxers in the 90s. Moreover, he was also popular for his unconventional boxing antics. However, he retired at 28 with a sole blemish on his record. As one of the legends of British boxing, he was seemingly displeased with Anthony Joshua’s performance last weekend. As such, Hamed feels that Joshua should call quits on his illustrious boxing career.
Whether he can or he can't [come back], I'd prefer him not to. He's had his day in the sun, he's done great, he won amazing world titles, defended them, earned his dough. Listen, he should bow out gracefully and that's it, done...Prince Naseem Hamed via IFL TV
The British legend claimed that Joshua has a weak chin and poor defense despite being strong on offense. Anthony Joshua, 34, has faced four defeats in his career, but this doesn’t diminish his decade-long career accomplishments. Hamed suggested that Joshua should retire to preserve his record, but the 34-year-old denied this during his post-fight press conference.
After this, the question arises about who he should face next. At one point, Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder was one of the most talked-about fights. However, it fell off when Joshua lost to Andy Ruiz Jr. Months later, Wilder also lost against Tyson Fury.
As of now, both men are on the decline due to their age and form. It will be interesting to see a fight between them. Meanwhile, Joshua’s recent opponent, Daniel Dubois, has made up his mind about who he wants to fight next.
After an impressive KO win over Anthony Joshua, Daniel Dubois names his upcoming opponent
Daniel Dubois is a rising pro boxer in the heavyweight division. Over his seven-year-long career, he has defeated several formidable opponents, including Anthony Joshua recently. Moreover, he currently reigns as the IBF heavyweight champion. Interestingly, with a win over his fellow Brit boxer, Dubois opens up for a potential rematch against Oleksandr Usyk.

Dubois’ most recent loss was against the undisputed heavyweight champion Usyk. The Ukrainian boxer is currently running the show at the heavyweight by thrashing almost every top boxer in the division.
Interestingly, when Dubois lost to Usyk, he motivated the Brit to eye for the gold again. It seems that by defeating Joshua, ‘Dynamite’ is on the right path to pursuing that goal.
Meanwhile, Usyk is currently scheduled to face Tyson Fury in December in a rematch for the undisputed status. Interestingly, there’s another barrier to Dubois’ rematch against the Ukrainian. With the loss, Joshua can activate the rematch clause which would make Dynamite fight AJ again.
