- The total prize pool for the 2026 Monte-Carlo Masters is $7,266,059.
- The champion will receive $1,122,162, while the runner-up will earn $612,832.
- Ranking points awarded include 1,000 for the winner and 650 for the runner-up.
The Monte-Carlo Masters is underway at the Monte Carlo Country Club. The main draw for the third Masters 1000 of the season started on April 5, and the final of the one-week event is scheduled to be held on April 12.
World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz will play as the defending champion. He lifted the title for the first time last year by overcoming a set deficit against Lorenzo Musetti, who will be playing as the fourth seed. World No.2 Jannik Sinner, a two-time semifinalist in The Principality, had skipped the tournament last year because of his three-month doping ban.
He will be chasing his third title of the season following his victories at the Indian Wells Masters (beat Daniil Medvedev) and the Miami Open (beat Jiri Lehecka). The two wins made Sinner the eighth man to complete the Sunshine Double and the first since Roger Federer in 2017.
Alcaraz will also be chasing his third title of the season in the tournament. At the Australian Open, the Spaniard upset Novak Djokovic to become the youngest man in the Open Era to complete the Career Grand Slam. Later, he won his maiden Qatar Open title by beating Arthur Fils.
Djokovic chose to skip the Monte Carlo event, where he finished as the champion back in 2013 and 2015. Last year, he suffered an opening-round exit. The 38-year-old, in fact, was last seen in action in the fourth round of the Indian Wells, where defending champion Jack Draper clinched a three-set win.
Draper withdrew from the tournament. The first 10 seeded players in the draw are: Alcaraz, Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Musetti, Alex de Minaur, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Medvedev, Alexander Bublik, Casper Ruud, and Flavio Cobolli. Stefanos Tsitsipas, even though he is dealing with a massive slump in form, will be one of the favorites to at least make a deep run, given that he lifted the title thrice (2021, 2022, and 2024).
Prize money for the 2026 Monte-Carlo Masters
The total prize pool of the Monte-Carlo Masters is $7,266,059. The winner and the runner-up will pocket $1,122,162 and $612,832, respectively.

| Round of 64 | $29,045 |
| Round of 32 | $52,424 |
| Round of 16 | $97,766 |
| Quarterfinals | $182,772 |
| Semifinals | $335,093 |
| Runner-up | $612,832 |
| Champion | $1,122,162 |
The winner and the runner-up will receive 1,000 and 650 ranking points, respectively. Those progressing to the semifinals will get 400 points, while those reaching the quarterfinals will get 200 points. Players making the third round and the second round will get 100 and 50 points, respectively. And those in the first rounds will get 10 points.
Alcaraz and Sinner will be battling for the No.1 spot in the tournament. The seven-time Grand Slam champion will continue to remain the World No.1 player if he defends the title.
Because the 22-year-old has 1,000 points to defend, he now only has a 190-point lead over Sinner in the live rankings. Sinner, because he skipped the Sunshine Double tournaments last year, reduced the rankings gap between him and Alcaraz by gaining 2,000 points after his two wins on American soil.
Sinner will dethrone Alcaraz if he wins the tournament or if he reaches the semifinals and the Murica native suffers an exit before the quarterfinals. The four-time Grand Slam champion will be returning to the top if he reaches the final and Alcaraz doesn’t. Alcaraz and Sinner have yet to face each other in an event this season.
The player who holds the record for most titles in the Monaco event is Rafael Nadal (11), and he also holds the record for most matches won (73). A local player has yet to win the tournament. Monegasque Valentin Vacherot, also the reigning Shanghai Masters champion, is confident of his ability to win the tournament.
