Robert Whittaker vs Marvin Vettori
The former middleweight champion, Robert Whittaker took on the current champion, Israel Adesanya at the main event of UFC 271. Even though Whittaker got the bitter end of a unanimous decision, he gave his all inside the octagon. Many thought he won the fight, but Rob remained gracious in the defeat and went home satisfied with his performance.
Whittaker also thought he won the fight, but he doesn’t want to take the credit away from Adesanya. He congratulated him on his victory, and he is ready to earn himself another title shot. Jared Cannonier knocked out Derek Brunson, the same night, and he demanded a title shot from Adesanya. The champ accepted his challenge, and now we can’t wait to watch these two back in action.

Whittaker is enjoying his time off, but he wants to compete as soon as possible. He is 0-2 against Adesanya, and he knows a trilogy fight doesn’t make sense on the paper. Nevertheless, Whittaker is more than ready to prove his worth, and he will take on any challenge UFC puts before him.
Talking about his future on the Submission Radio, he said, “I think I fight someone in the division. I don’t know how many people are left. Probably Vettori? Yeah, he would have to be the highest-ranked next up, I believe. I’m looking forward to (it). I’m going to enjoy my little break now and then get back in the gym, probably look for like a July, August sort of return.”
“I’m sure he doesn’t want to have a third fight”- Robert Whittaker would leave no stone unturned to get a third fight against Israel Adesanya

Whittaker is pretty sure that Adesanya doesn’t want a third fight against him. He believes Adesanya saw some more improvements from him, and he had to dig down really deep to defend his belt, “Nah, Nah, I’m sure he doesn’t want to have a third fight,” Whittaker said. “It was a hard fight, and like, he knows the threat that I bring to it. Yeah, it doesn’t bother me, I’m not really worried about it. Just like the first time, I’m just gonna beat up everyone they put in front of me, and then there will be no one left.”
Rob would do whatever needs to be done to retain his belt. He is in a much better place in his life right now, and with a few adjustments, he knows he can take down Izzy, and fans can’t wait to see these two run it one more time. “It’s inevitable for another fight down the line. Yeah, there’s definitely going to be another fight down the line,” Whittaker concluded.
