LIGUE 1: PSG vs St Etienne Player Ratings as PSG comeback to win 3-1

PSG vs St EtiennePlayer Ratings: PSG took on 16th placed St Etienne in the Ligue 1 and came away with a comfortable 3-1 win.

St Etienne took an early lead after a Periera error was pounced upon and converted by Bouanga in the 16th minute. PSG equalised in the 42nd minute after Messi found Mbappe with a delightful through ball and the Frenchman smashed it in.

PSG were completely dominant in the second half and two quick goals soon after the break put them completely in control. Mbappe got a second after another Messi assist and also got an assist after setting up Pereira with a beautiful Trivela cross.

G Donnarumma (7.2/10): Made a couple of good saves and his distribution was excellent. Arguably could have done better to save the goal.

Marquinhos (6.8/10): The captain was solid in defence and made some good progressive passes. He was dribbled past a couple of times though.

P Kimpembe(7/10): He had a good game in defence and managed to keep out St Etienne forwards.

Nuno Mendes (6.8/10): Saw a lot of the ball near the byline and was good on the offence.

Thilo Kehrer (6.7/10): Did not offer much going forward but was good defensively.

Idrissa Gueye (6.5/10): Had a decent game in midfield but lost a majority of the duels in midfield.

Georginio Wijnaldum (6.3/10): Had a quiet game and did not get into the game much.

Danilo Pereira (6.6/10): Made a costly error that led to a goal but redeemed himself by getting a goal for his side.

Lionel Messi (8.5/10): Set up Mbappe for both his goals. His pass for the first goal was defence breaking and his overall game was excellent.

Neymar (6.8/10): Neymar lost possession way too many times and could not impact the game as much as the other forwards. He did show his class at times and also created a couple of good chances.

Kylian Mbappe (9.1/10): Had a near-perfect game getting 2 goals and an assist. His trivela assist to set up Danilo’s goal was beautiful.

Substitutions:

Angel di Maria (6.6/10): Came on in the 45th minute and was unlucky to hit the woodwork once.

Mauro Icardi (NA): Didn’t have time to impact the game.

Juan Bernat(NA): Didn’t have time to impact the game.

Julian Draxler(NA): Didn’t have time to impact the game.

St Etienne:

Paul Bernardoni (5.7/10):  Let through 3 goals and was easily beaten for the first Mbappe goal where he definitely had to do better. His distribution was also poor.

Mickael Nade (6.2/10): Could not deal with the pace of Mbappe and was caught out multiple times.

Eliaquim Mangala(6/10): Made a few blocks but could not deal with the PSG attacking line and let in three goals.

Falaye Sacko (6/10): Had a decent game and tried to get up the field and create something for his team.

Mahdi Camara (6.2/10): Had a poor game and could not stop the opposing forwards.

Timothée Kolodziejczak (6.4/10):  Was decent at Left Back but did not provide any threat going forward.

Zaydou Youssouf(6/10): Made some good passes and long balls but could not impose himself on the game as he would have wanted to.

Lucas Gourna-Douath (5.8/10):  Had a very poor game and lost the battle in midfield. Was unable to create any chances for his team.

Denis Bouanga (6.8/10): Capitalised on Periera’s error and scored with a smart finish but was lacklustre throughout the game otherwise.

Arnaud Nordin (5.8/10): Was unable to impact the game much from the wing and was quiet for a majority of the match.

Ryad Boudebouz (7.1/10): Was impressive upfront taking on the defenders and getting past them.

Substitutions:

H Moukodi (7.2/10): Came on in the 56th minute and did a good job. Made a few tackles and looked composed on the ball.

Romain Hamouma(6.2/10): Did not have a great impact on the game after coming on.

Sada Thioub(6.7/10): Came on in the 67th minute and did well to try and create chances.

A Moueffek(6.6/10): Came on in the 67th minute and did well in midfield.
