PUBG is probably the most popular battle royale game in the gaming industry. Its popularity has garnered millions of players across the globe and continues to grow till today. It is a survival shooter battle royale where players need to be the last one standing. India has one of the largest player bases for PUBG mobile. However since September this year, the game has been banned in India. This was due to the ongoing conflicts between India and China over the Himalayan borders. The Indian government banned 118 Chinese based apps including PUBG Mobile. This ban was indefinite and is in effect till now. Servers are essentially the place where players can create their account and play. But the servers can only hold a limited number of people before it starts having network issues. Servers are generally located near the player base so that the network and game-play is smooth and not laggy. PUBG’s servers are spread around the world so that players can have an optimal gaming experience.

Europe is a growing market for PUBG. The European servers are very popular due to their regional location. However to better the playing experience, they have decided that PUBG servers will be relocated.

The official statement by PUBG stated that a few months back they ran some tests. This was to find the best location that would provide the best network conditions for the greatest number of players. The result is the news that the PUBG servers relocated from EU to Frankfurt, Germany.

The reason to move to Frankfurt as their central location was also disclosed. This decision was taken since everyone in Europe is playing on the same servers. Thus moving to Frankfurt makes sure that the ping is evenly spread across the continent. Frankfurt showed the second best result in this test. While the best result was Paris, PUBG is yet to plan its server move tp that location.

The game will be closely monitored after the server relocation to make sure it’s running smoothly. The first to test would be the console players and the related data would be used to better the experience.
