Puka Nacua announced his return from injury last week after posting 106 yards against the Minnesota Vikings, so most bettors added him to their lineup for this Sunday, but they were quickly disappointed. The second-year receiver got ejected even before catching a couple of passes.
The Rams badly needed to respond after going behind to a Tyler Lockett touchdown. Quarterback Matthew Stafford seemed desperate to make something happen. In that desperation, he threw a pass intended for Puka Nacua, who was under double coverage from Seahawks players.
Tariq Woolen picked off Stafford’s pass and ran away with it looking for a pick-six. While every eye was zoned in on Woolen, something else went down off-camera. Nacua and Seattle linebacker Tyrel Dodson got into a pushing contest against each other. In the heat of the moment, Nacua threw an air punch at Dodson.

After Woolen stopped his run, the attention turned toward the two athletes bickering near the center. A couple of the referees saw the skirmish go down and instructed the main official to eject the second-year receiver. Puka Nacua’s day ended after playing barely fifteen minutes of football.
Puka Nacua revealed he had never been ejected before Sunday’s game
The game went to extra time for a conclusion. Once more, Stafford found a clutch moment halfway through the OT. Veteran shot-caller hit Demarcus Robinson for a 39-yard touchdown to secure the win for the Rams.
The victory extended the Rams’ win streak to three, and now they sit behind the Cardinals in the NFC West at the second spot.
There were jubilant scenes on the field, which Nacua had to watch through a small TV from the locker room. It was a new feeling because this was the first occasion the referees ejected him from a game. When reporters asked, the 23-year-old revealed that there was an exchange of words before his ejection from the game.
Puka Nacua has never been ejected before at any level. He watched the Rams OT walk off win in the locker room alone. Going crazy jumping up and down, pacing. The only other person in the locker room was a police officer who Puka said wasn’t happy with the outcome. “He’s been a… pic.twitter.com/6IMwyAFXkf

He recalled Stafford’s interception and thought the drive ended after Woolen’s catch, but Dodson appeared all of a sudden.
Head coach Sean McVay said that it’s a learning experience for Nacua, and he’s a smart individual and will understand quickly. McVay wants the BYU graduate to take the frustration of ejection as fuel to build upon and explode from the next game, which is against the Miami Dolphins.
