The Las Vegas Aces defeated the Indiana Fever 88-69 on Tuesday.
A'ja Wilson and Shannon Sharpe
A’ja Wilson has always stunned viewers with her incredible scoring abilities and dominance on the floor. The Las Vegas Aces center is certainly a fan-favorite in the WNBA as the star is admired by many famous names. The former football player Shannon Sharpe is also one of them as the analyst often sings high praise of Wilson. Hence, it was not surprising that Sharpe was seen courtside supporting Wilson.
Shannon Sharpe attended the highly-anticipated LV Aces vs. Indiana Fever game on Tuesday. During the game, the reigning champions were dominating the Fever with their former MVP at the front. With six minutes left in the second quarter, A’ja Wilson made back-to-back layups which had the arena buzzing. Sharpe was also one of them, as the star lost his bracelet while hyping Wilson’s shot.
The video went viral on social media as Sharpe was immediately spotted looking for the bracelet. The bucket was certainly worth celebrating as Wilson extended the Aces lead by six points with consecutive scoring. The shot set the tone for the game as the Fever were not able to get a single lead until the end of regulation.
Wilson’s performance in the rest of the game was also nothing short of amazing as the star almost scored a double-double. The 27-year-old finished with 28 points and nine rebounds to help out Kelsey Plum. Sharpe was undoubtedly blown away by the performance as he was also spotted chatting to Wilson after the game.
Shannon Sharpe believes that the ‘best player’ A’ja Wilson will win the championship again
Sharpe’s reaction to Wilson’s shot was not the first time the former player showed his admiration. The LV Aces are back-to-back champions as the team has one of the best rosters in the league. However, according to Sharpe, the team is not done yet as he believes that Wilson will add another title this year.
A week ago the panel of ESPN’s First Take was discussing their picks for a three-peat in the show’s ‘Who Ya Got?’ segment. With the Kansas City Chiefs and UConn men’s basketball being the options, Sharpe chose the Aces to win the WNBA championship for the third time.
I just think the Aces. I think A'ja Wilson is the best player in the WNBA and it's not close... I just like the way they play, they're gonna get their rhythm.Shannon Sharpe said
Sharpe may have been right, as despite struggling at the beginning of the season the Aces are now winning. The team is on a five-game winning streak with the record now 11-6. Wilson is also getting in her groove as her outing against the Fever was one of her better performances. Hence, Sharpe has all the right to get excited over the star’s success.
