The success of the Indian contingent at the Tokyo Olympics has garnered great laurels among the nation, as a sports turns over a new leaf. After coming back from Japan, not only the medallists, but all the Olympians have been well felicitated and their efforts have been recognised.
Punjab’s Chief Minister Amarinder Singh kept his promise towards the athletes that he had made before the Tokyo Olympics, saying that he would invite them over for a meal. He donned the chef’s hat and an apron on Wednesday as he cooked a delicious meal for all participants from his state as well as Olympic Champion Neeraj Chopra who hails from Haryana.
Singh invited over all athletes at his farmhouse in Siswan, Mohali for dinner. He took the celebration one step further, by not only cooking the food by hand, but also served all the guests on the lawn of his farmhouse. ”I started at 11 in the morning. Most of it was done by around 5 pm, and then it was time for some final touches. But I loved every minute of it,’‘ said the CM to DevdisCourse.

Singh went on to say that the Olympians had done so much for the country that cooking a meal was nothing in comparison to that. Greeting the guests personally, Singh said that serving the food from vessels gave it a personal touch and made the food taste better.
On the menu was mutton khara pishori, laung ellachi chicken, aloo korma, dal masri, murg korma, dugani biryani and zarda rice.

Without a doubt, the food cooked by the CM was scrumptious, and garnered the praise of several of the guest. Indian hockey team captain Manpreet Singh said that he had heard a lot about the Captian’s food and when he enjoyed the food on Wednesday, it exceeded his expectations, further adding that his favourite dish was the aloo koorma.
Discus thrower Kamalpreet Singh, who was also at the event was impressed by both the food and the hospitality that Singh provided. Neeraj Chopra also had nothing but positive things to say about the food. ”It was rich (quite a bit of ghee) but it was excellent food,” he said.
Other Olympians who also came for the event included Gurjit Kaur, Harmanpreet Singh, Mandeep Singh, Rupinder Pal Singh, Gurprit Singh, Varun Kumar and Reena Khokhar.
