‘Furious’ Quinn Ewers told 2 harsh words to Jack Sawyer after his game-winning strip-sack touchdown

Life came back in full circle for Quinn Ewers and Jack Sawyer in the Cotton Bowl Classic. The two share a bond that goes way back to 2021 during the quarterback’s time at Ohio State University, and on Saturday the roommates went head-to-head against each other, and one wound up getting an edge over the other.
OSU’s Jack Sawyer made the most important play of the night after he strip-sacked Quinn Ewers to complete an 83-yard touchdown run which put a decisive end to the game. Right after Sawyer scored, there was a brief exchange that ensued between him and his former roommate.
As Quinn Ewers walked to the sidelines with a smile on his face, Jack Sawyer was asked in his post-game press conference about what the quarterback told him.
He was just walking off and said ‘Screw you’ and started laughing. That’s my boy. Obviously, we were roommates when he was here. Got a lot of respect for him and the rest of the Texas team.

Jack Sawyer and Quinn Ewers share a bond of mutual respect
Despite the quarterback transferring to Texas after the 2021 season, Sawyer and he continued to have a friendship. This is why even though the strip sack put a full stop to the Longhorns’ national championship aspirations, Ewers walked off the field with a smile because that was a great play that the linebacker made.
The Texas Longhorns had their shot at a national championship robbed despite being a yard away from tying the game. It can be compared to Super Bowl XLIX wherein the Seahawks had the chance to secure a win toward the end of the game but an unfortunate interception turned the tide.
The next goal for OSU and Sawyer will be to win the National Championship against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and this time, Ewers will be rooting for his OSU counterpart Sawyer to make a remarkable play and win it all.
