These spots will be determined on the final day only.

Suddenly, Tottenham Hotspur are out of Europa League contention as well with the defeat. The clubs are holding their fingers crossed for the final day.
What do the Premier League clubs need to seal their chances?

Chelsea, Liverpool and Leicester City are the three sides that are vying for the remaining two Champions League spots in the English Premier League. The points table looks like below after the Foxes’ defeat at Stamford Bridge:

3 | Chelsea | 67 | 23 | Aston Villa | 70 |
4 | Liverpool | 66 | 24 | Crystal Palace | 69 |
5 | Leicester City | 66 | 20 | Tottenham Hotspur | 69 |
Chelsea:
Chelsea just need all three points to book their slot in the Champions League 2021/22 as they are on their way to hit 70 points with a win. However, a loss can be fatal to their Champions League qualification as Liverpool and Leicester City are waiting in the offing to leapfrog them on the final day. A draw will keep the club on tenterhooks. However, even if the Blues lose, Chelsea can make it all the way to Champions League 2021/22 of they win against Pep Guardiola’s men in the Champions League finals.
Liverpool:
The Merseysiders have returned to the race with some astonishing results in the last few weeks in the English Premier League. They have registered four wins on trot and will look to extend their winning run to the fifth against Crystal Palace on the final day of the season. However, a win cannot ensure their place in the top-four as the Goal Difference come into picture if Leicester City wins by a big margin against Tottenham Hotspur. Liverpool need a big victory at Anfield on Sunday.
Leicester City:
The defeat against Chelsea came at a wrong time for Leicester City as they slipped out of top four with Liverpool winning later that day. On the other hand, the club has a tough fixture against Tottenham Hotspur. Brendan Rodgers is experiencing the same what he experienced an year ago. Despite leading the race to finish in top four in the English Premier League, Foxes were pushed outside by Manchester United and Chelsea on the final day of the season. Leicester City not only need a huge win but either of Liverpool and Chelsea need to drop points on the final day of the season.
Position on the points table | Team/Club | Points | Goal Difference | Opposition on GW 38 | Maximum Points |
6 | West Ham United | 62 | 12 | Southampton | 65 |
7 | Tottenham Hotspur | 59 | 21 | Leicester City | 62 |
West Ham United:
As one of the top-five clubs are set to occupy the fifth position on the points table, only one amongst the Hammers and Spurs can get the qualification to Europa League. The equation is simple for West Ham United. A victory against Southampton will put them into the play off stages of the Europa League.
Tottenham Hotspur:
Tottenham Hotspur are in a deeper mess after the defeat against Aston Villa in the English Premier League. Despite scoring first, they allowed Aston Villa to stage a comeback in the top-flight.
