Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz made headlines earlier this year when it was announced that they would be playing doubles together in the Paris Olympics. Alcaraz had expressed his dream of partnering with his idol at the Olympic Games.
This dream will soon be fulfilled as both the Spaniards have arrived in Paris and are beginning their preparations for the tournament that will be held at Roland Garros. Nadal was seen hitting the courts for his first practice session for potentially his last tournament on the iconic Philippe Chatrier, a court that has become his own over the years.
He was spotted donning his iconic sleeveless look, ripping forehand as he always as while many onlookers watched in awe of what the 38-year-old could still do.

In likely his last Olympics, competing at the venue that’s been the most special place in his career is poetic.

He will likely have more practice sessions with Alcaraz as the two lost the opportunity to play some tournaments together, leading up to the big event. Nadal assured fans that he is hoping to get enough practice in with his partner to make a deep run. He will be eyeing a third Olympic Gold, having already claimed one each in singles (2008) and doubles (2016).

The Spanish Tennis Team for the Olympic Games made a noticeable entry into the city of love, as Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal were seen together, uniform-clad at the venue. Photos of the two players with fans went viral and more footage of their practice sessions were uploaded on social media.
Surprisingly, during their first practice sessions, they did not take to the courts together. They had their own sessions scheduled and practiced with other players from their faction today.
However, each of them was in the audience while the other was practicing. They engaged in discussions and improved morale. Nadal was on the sidelines during Alcaraz’s session and Alcaraz was seated in the stands as he watched Rafa train.
