22-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal is set to make a comeback at the Major tournaments. After an early exit from the French Open and missing Wimbledon, the Spaniard has hinted at his next Grand Slam entry.
After the grass season, the tennis tour will head back to Paris to play the Olympics before venturing into the hard courts for the remainder of the year, where they will eventually play the last Slam, the US Open. Nadal, who skipped Wimbledon to train for the Olympics, was named in the 2024 US Open entry list.
After his win in 2019 and 2022 fourth-round exit, Nadal missed the US Open the last three out of four times. Even though he is named in the entry list, it does not guarantee his participation just yet, but only raises more hope for his return.

This whole year, the Spaniard only played a few tournaments and rested for the others to prepare for the upcoming Summer Games. However, if he is fine after that, then there are high chances for the 4-time US Open winner to return for probably the last time using his protected ranking.
Rafael Nadal made a return to the tennis court with a win over Bjorn Borg’s son, Leo Borg
Having missed the SW19 to train on the clay courts for the upcoming Paris Olympics, Rafael Nadal decided to play the Nordea Open as preparation. He is playing both doubles and singles in this tournament. Surprisingly, Nadal joined forces with Casper Ruud in the men’s doubles, and they have already won their first match together.
Coming to singles, the Spaniard was up against Leo Borg, the son of Bjorn Borg. It was a great first match for Nadal at the Swedish Open. Despite committing a few errors at the start of the game, Nadal displayed his trademark resilience to assert his dominance over the youngster.

For me, it has been a huge honor to play against the son of one of the biggest legends in the history of our sport.Rafael Nadal commented on the match
The Spaniard will now take on a more competitive opponent Cameron Norrie in the next round. Undoubtedly it will be a tough matchup for Nadal, who will hope to run deep in this tournament and enter the Olympics high on confidence and form.
