Rafael Nadal‘s son, Rafael Nadal Perello, has been getting a lot of attention from the tennis fraternity during the ongoing Madrid Open. Several videos of the toddler’s antics with the racket have been winning the fans’ hearts.

One such video was uploaded by a user on X. Nadal, after his intense practice match, could be seen holding his son in his arms, while the latter, as always, was holding a tiny racket.

Nadal’s wife, Maria Francisca Perello, was busy wearing her jacket, and moments later, Rafa gave the baby to her after kissing him on the cheek. The user shared the video with the caption: “He’s always holding a tiny racket.”

A few days ago, in another video, Nadal was teaching his son his famous ‘Vamos’ celebration, who looked eager to hold his favorite toy, the racket. Nadal married Maria in 2019, and they welcomed their first son on October 7, 2022. Maria and the baby were recently spotted watching Nadal play at the Barcelona Open where he lost to Australia’s Alex de Minaur in the Round of 32.

Rafael Nadal once shared his love for kids

In March this year, Rafael Nadal opened up about his love for kids ahead of his match against fellow Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in The Netflix Slam. He told E! during a press conference that he loves spending time with the kids, and after becoming a dad, the world changed a bit, as everything was new to him, and that he learned about things every day.

I have always been a kid guy. I always enjoyed spending time with the kids. I had plenty of smaller cousins than me, so I had a lot of fun with them when they were babies. I can say nothing negative. I am lucky that for the moment the baby is doing very well. We are happy.

Meanwhile, the 37-year-old Nadal is currently participating in the Madrid Open and faced 16-year-old American Darwin Blanch in the first round. They have become the players with the largest age gap (21 years and almost four months) in the history of the ATP 1000 Masters. They broke the previous record held by Richard Gasquet and Martin Landaluce (19 years and 204 days).

The 14-time Grand Slam champion has confirmed that this Madrid Open will be his last. His participation in the upcoming French Open will be based on his fitness
