Deepfake videos of Rafael Nadal, which claim to provide financial advice or offers, are circulating. The Spaniard then took to social media to warn everyone of the fake videos.
Nadal hung up his racket at the 2024 Davis Cup after Spain lost their quarterfinal tie against the Netherlands. He has now shifted his focus to playing golf, among other things. Now, recently, Nadal’s team has identified some videos of him that were made with AI, and so, the 22-time Grand Slam champion deemed it best to warn all.
Hello everyone. I’m sharing this alert, which is unusual for me on social media, but I believe it’s necessary. My team and I have identified fake videos circulating on certain platforms, created with artificial intelligence, where someone appears to look and sound like me. These videos promote investment tips or offers that do not come from me. They are part of a misleading advertising scheme. Please be cautious: I have not made or endorsed any such content.

The last singles match that Nadal played was at the 2024 Paris Olympics against eventual winner Novak Djokovic in the second round. The last time the King of Clay won a title was at the 2022 French Open by defeating Norway’s Casper Ruud. Last year, he played his career’s last singles final at the Swedish Open, but he failed to beat Nuno Borges.
Tony Godsick says both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer could return to tennis
Roger Federer‘s agent, Tony Godsick, who co-founded the Laver Cup with the Swiss maestro, said during an interview with the Tennis Channel that both Federer and Rafael Nadal could return, though not as professional players. Even Federer had hinted about the same while he was in San Francisco for the eighth edition of the Laver Cup.

I’ve been pressuring him [Federer] a little bit, saying, ‘Come on, people want to see you play again. You can play a couple of senior things. We’ve been talking with Rafa a little bit about putting together a tour together. So, Roger just wanted to make sure that his knee was fine. He didn’t want to be totally broken after his career, so he gave it a little bit of time. He’s not there yet, but he’s in the gym a lot. I think Rafa’s interested, I don’t want to speak for Rafa.
Tony Godsick told Tennis Channel
Federer was the member of the Big 3 to hang up his racket. He did it so at the 2022 Laver Cup, where he played doubles with Nadal and lost the super tie-break to Team World’s Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock. In their head-to-head meetings, Nadal led 24-16. But Federer clinched the win in their last encounter- in the semifinal of the 2019 Wimbledon. Federer later lost the final to Djokovic.
Rafael Nadal plays padel with fans
More than 5000 players from 36 countries played padel, but only three got the chance to fulfill their dream. They got the chance to hit the court with none other than Nadal at his Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca.

My friends at Playtomic and I have created a challenge so you can come and play padel with me.
Rafael Nadal said in a video on Instagram
This year, Nadal made his comeback at the French Open– though not to compete. He was honored with a retirement ceremony in front of his fans as well as his biggest rivals: Federer, Djokovic, and Andy Murray. Iga Swiatek and Carlos Alcaraz, who idolized the 39-year-old while growing up, were also present on Court Philippe-Chatrier.
