Rafael Nadal’s coach and former World No. 1, Carlos Moya, reveals that the decision regarding the 22-time Grand Slam champion’s participation at Roland Garros has not yet been made. Moya addressed this concern at a local press conference during his visit to his old school.
Following his defeat against Hubert Hurkacz in Rome, Nadal stated in his post-match press conference that he had not yet made a decision regarding his participation in Roland Garros. Nevertheless, his instinct leaned towards being prepared for the second Grand Slam of the year.
Over the past few days, numerous Spanish outlets had announced Nadal’s eagerness to participate in his beloved Grand Slam, allowing him to bid a proper farewell to the court where he clinched 14 of his 22 slams. However, Moya has currently dispelled those rumors.
The idea is to be at Roland Garros next week, but we haven't decided anything yet. We move forward little by little, trying to pick up the pace. He has come a long way, with various injuries in recent months. It is clear that he lacks a bit of competitive rhythm. There has been an evolution since Barcelona on a physical and mental level, but above all he now has certain guarantees of being able to hold a match in five sets.Said Carlos Moya via Welovetennis
What’s particularly intriguing is that the King of Clay seemed more inclined towards participating in the Paris Olympics rather than Roland Garros. He’s been discussing the possibility of a doubles partnership with Carlos Alcaraz at the games. However, those rumors are currently uncertain.

After losing against Hubert Hurkacz at the Rome Masters, Rafael Nadal left a mysterious message hinting at his plans for the French Open. He was uncertain about participating but wanted to compete in his beloved tournament.
The decision (to appear at the French Open) as you can imagine, is not clear in my mind today. But if I have to say what’s my feeling and if my mind is closer to one way or the other way, I’m going to say I will be in Roland Garros and try my best.Said Nadal after losing at Rome
According to Spanish outlets, the 22-time major winner has reportedly traveled to Paris. This is a piece of welcome news for Nadal fans, who want to see their favorite player compete in the tournament where he has historically been dominant.
