Raheem Sterling‘s time at Chelsea is coming to an uneventful end. Isolated from the first team, the Englishman was informed that new manager Enzo Maresca does not have room for him in his plans.
Despite the tricky situation at the club, Chelsea are actively looking to offload the player. Recently, former Premier League player Troy Deeney made a bold claim that Sterling would be Manchester United’s best player.
He's better than everything they've got there. At the moment, he's delivering more than Marcus (Rashford) is doing. He gives more of a leadership role too.Troy Deeney told Sky Sports
While several Chelsea fans look forward to offloading the Englishman, there are also talks of the Blues making a move for United outcast Jadon Sancho. Several fans argued that United will not benefit from bringing the 29-year-old winger who is on ‘extremely’ high wages to Old Trafford.
A few also pointed out that United are letting their desperation to get rid of Sancho get in the way of bringing in players that will actually help the team. As things stand, Sancho’s situation is also being closely monitored by Serie A giants Juventus.
Manuel Ugarte lands in Manchester ahead of medical
After bringing in Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, Manchester United have now completed the signing of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte. The Uruguayan midfielder has been on United’s radar ever since the start of the window, with Casemiro‘s situation adding to the mix.
As per reports, the player has landed in Manchester to complete his United medical after the English club agreed to pay £50.8 million for Ugarte’s services. Despite being one of the best ball-winners in Europe, the 23-year-old did not find a place in Luis Enrique‘s plans. He was left out of PSG‘s squad in both of their League games till date.
The midfielder will join United on a deal which will keep him at the club till 2029. There has been no official announcement regarding his salary, although it is known that the player was earning in the excess of €118,000 per week while at PSG. Manchester United have already spent over $240 million on new players as fans hope that Erik ten Hag can finally figure out a winning formula for the club.
