Rahul Dravid reportedly set to become Rajasthan Royals’ head coach once again after India exit

After the T20 World Cup final, his contract with the BCCI expired and hence he is free to take any other role.

The preparations for the IPL 2025 have already started. There is set to be a mega action ahead of the IPL 2025. Here, major changes are taking place regarding retentions and the coaching staffs as well. As per latest reports, former India Head Coach, Rahul Dravid, is set to become the Head Coach of Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025.

Rahul Dravid led India to the semi final of the T20 World Cup 2022, final of the ICC World Test Championship 2023, final of the ODI World Cup 2023, and finally to the title of the T20 World Cup 2024. After the final, his contract with the BCCI expired and hence he is free to take any other role.

Reports say that Rajasthan have contacted Dravid to take over the role of Head Coach and Kumar Sangakkara might not continue with the team.

Rahul Dravid will add great experience to Rajasthan Royals

The bond between Rajasthan Royals and Dravid is well known. He has played as a player and also served as a captain for the team. Moreover, he has also served as a mentor of the team. Dravid has earlier been the Head Coach of the India U-19 team, India A team, and the Chairman of the NCA. So, he will definitely be beneficial for the Royals.

Meanwhile, other reports say that Yuvraj Singh might become the Head Coach of Gujarat Titans and Ashish Nehra might not continue in that role. In three seasons under Nehra, the team has won the title once and qualified for the final the next season. Nehra’s departure comes after Hardik Pandya moved to Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2024.

Nehra and Pandya duo was very much successful for the Titans. Meanwhile, Yuvi has served as mentor for GT’s young captain Shubman Gill and SRH youngster, Abhishek Sharma. However, this will be the first instance that he will take over as the Head Coach of any team. Given that his relationship with Gill is good, it could serve as a perfect combination for GT and can lead them to success.
