This however, is not the first time that Dravid has let go of his prize money or adjusted it for the remainder of his coaching staff. He took a similar stance when he was coaching the Indian U19 team in 2018.

As India went on to win the tournament, Dravid was to be awarded a prize money of INR 50 lakh while the other support staff was to get INR 20 lakh. However, showing his equal support for everyone, Dravid devised a calculation to change the distribution percentage and all the members got an equal amount of INR 25 lakh thereafter.
