Raiders Coach Klint Kubiak Clears Team Has No Plans to Trade Maxx Crosby
Maxx Crosby is a Raider for life because he was drafted by the Vegas franchise, but there is a possibility that he gets traded this year for the right price.

- Klint Kubiak confirmed the Raiders have no plans to trade Maxx Crosby.
- Crosby is viewed as a key player for the team, driving both the defense and locker room morale.
- General manager John Spytek expects Crosby to remain with the Raiders for the upcoming season.
Maxx Crosby‘s future with the Raiders remains uncertain even after the Vegas club appointed Klint Kubiak as its new head coach. Speaking at the NFL Combine this week, Kubiak revealed that he does not want to lose his star defensive end to another team.
Crosby is one of those players who always remain at the top of the NFL shopping list of many teams. Despite the interest, the Raiders plan to keep Crosby.
It’s a guy that we really want on our team, simple as that. We want Maxx to be a Raider, and the few interactions I’ve had with him have been very positive. Really excited about working with Maxx this year.
Klint Kubiak told NBC Sports
Crosby is not just another member of the Raiders’ roster. He is the engineman, who drives not just the defense but the entire locker room. Nevertheless, every player in the National Football League has a price tag, and they are often offloaded if a team makes a fair offer. Dallas fans may remember how they lost Micah Parsons to the Packers last year.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network recently speculated that other clubs are bound to contact the Raiders regarding Crosby.
[Maxx Crosby is] a [28-year-old] star player who is still at his peak on a Raiders team that’s probably going to be challenged over the next one to two years to really be competitive in a tough division. All of that, to me, tracks toward push this as far as you can, maximize your leverage by saying we’re going to keep the guy here. See what type of calls you get.
Pelissero said on the Rich Eisen Show (H/T: Raidersbeat.com)
That said, Pelissero made it clear that the Raiders have no urgency to pick up the phone and call other teams to hear their offers. Crosby signed a three-year, $106.5 million contract extension, of which he has played only one year.
Raiders’ general manager makes his stance clear about trading Maxx Crosby
Crosby can be an asset to any team he plays for. Last year, he racked up 10 sacks and a career-high 28 TFLs despite missing the final two games.

The official reason behind missing those games was due to a knee injury that had been bothering him since 2024. However, Raiders insider Jay Glazer reported in December that the coaches benched the All-Pro pass rusher to increase their chances of finishing with the number one overall pick in the 2026 draft.
Scoopage: Raiders told Maxx Crosby they want to shut him down last two games. Crosby, who has played with injuries for much of the year, vehemently disagreed and has left the building @nflonfox has learned. This could lead to questions on his future in Vegas

Crosby naturally was not too happy with the team’s decision to shut him down in order to tank for a draft pick. Former Raiders head coach Pete Carroll confessed that Crosby’s reaction was justified because he was benched to acquire a better draft position.
It was exactly like you would think he would do, and he should do, and I agree with him a thousand percent on how he responded.
Carroll said
“It was exactly like you would think he would do. And I agree with him a 1000% on it.”

Caroll may no longer be in the building, but GM Spytek remains. Recently, Spytek made it clear that he wants Crosby to wear the Silver and Black in 2026.
Las Vegas GM John Spytek told reporters at the scouting combine in Indianapolis that he expects Maxx Crosby to be with the Raiders this season.

Crosby was drafted in the fourth round of the 2019 draft when the Raiders were still in Oakland. Since then, Crosby has made 110 appearances, racking up 439 combined tackles, 69.5 sacks, 133 TFLs, 11 forced fumbles, 3 forced returns, and one interception.
