When the Las Vegas Raiders left Oakland, it left a lot of their passionate and borderline hostile fans behind. The team is still struggling to find their identity as they continue with their miserable journey in the NFL over these past few seasons.

Today, against the Los Angeles Chargers, they had a chance to win their first game with Antonio Pierce as their official head coach. Despite that chance, they fumbled badly, ending with a double-digit loss at SoFi Stadium to start their new season.

A Raiders fan was facing taunts from a rival Chargers fan outside the stadium. When their heated words led to a skirmish, this fan, sporting a Maxx Crosby jersey, sent a few punches to his opponent’s face. The Chargers fan was left bloodied and unconscious, with his supposed partner trying her best to stop this Raiders fan from being body slammed.

This was a continuation of the mood inside the stadium. Hostile Chargers fans continued their taunts and trash talk. Several of those arguments led to fights inside SoFi Stadium, as frustrations from losing boiled over. It seems the Raiders fans are resuming their reputation as being passionate and hostile at the same time. Their team’s performances were a major contributor to that frustration.

Since their first touchdown, the Las Vegas Raiders ended their drives with three punts, two fumbles, and two missed field goals before they could put up their next points. Such a performance from the offense frustrated the defense too. This was evident from the major fight towards the end of the game.

Even Raiders and Chargers players went for it towards end of game

The Los Angeles Chargers were up by 6 towards the end of the game. With their last major drive, they scored their game-sealing touchdown with 3:40 left to go. With a 12-point lead, the Chargers did not necessarily need to put it away with a two-point try.

But it seems the team’s tenacity under new head coach Jim Harbaugh showed as they wanted to rub it in. They eventually failed to convert the attempt. Raiders’ defense, livid as their hard work ended up with nothing, ended up brawling with the Chargers after this drive. In the ensuing scuffle involving multiple Raiders defenders, Maxx Crosby slammed Chargers receiver Quentin Johnston to the ground.

Eventually, officials had to stop play and send Chargers receiver Joshua Palmer and Raiders cornerback Josh Jones packing to their locker rooms. But it is unlikely that those ejections stop Las Vegas Raiders players and fans from keeping everything stored in their minds as the last game of the season for the Charges is in Las Vegas.
