Davante Adams is no longer with the Las Vegas Raiders anymore, but judging from owner Mark Davis’ reaction, this isn’t too big of a loss. His departure from the team wasn’t idealistic, but he certainly was a crucial part of their offense. But now, he has joined the clan of the New York Jets.
The Raiders’ owner got personally involved in last season’s decision to fire Josh McDaniels as he issued a personal apology to his players. But he has given the matters concerning the roster to General Manager Tom Telesco and head coach Antonio Pierce.
Stating that he trusted the decision made by Telesco and Pierce, Davis refused to elaborate much on the trade of the three-time All-Pro wide receiver. But the brief response, he gave implies a message directed towards Adams, who requested a trade from the team after learning about them considering it.
Being acquired by the Green Gang, Adams has been reunited with his former teammate Aaron Rodgers from Green Bay Packers. Meanwhile, the Raiders have acquired a conditional third-round pick in exchange for the six-time Pro Bowler and are rumored to be trading another star player.
Mark Davis dismisses trade rumors surrounding Maxx Crosby
After the trade news of veteran star Adams, there have been trade speculations about another star player of the Raiders– Maxx Crosby. The league is already discussing it and some even suggested a potential spot for the star defensive end to land and a means for the team to get first or second-round picks and they could draft a potential franchise quarterback.
However, while addressing the media, owner Davis dismissed all the trade rumors, asserting, “It’s just not happening.” He also highlighted that there’s no reliable source to back the speculations because the team is not considering it.
The star pass rusher has also stated that he wants to end his NFL career in Las Vegas. Although there’s a possibility that Las Vegas might change their mind later as they did with Adams, for now, Crosby is staying in the team as they prepare for the upcoming match against the Los Angeles Rams.
