The Las Vegas Raiders have stirred trouble by mocking Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes even though the Reds have dominated them in the recent years.

Being overconfident might come back to haunt the Las Vegas Raiders someday. Especially when trolling Patrick Mahomes.
The Raiders began their training camp on Thursday, a week after the Kansas City Chiefs kicked off theirs. After the session wrapped up, a fan handed Raiders’ safety Trey Taylor a Kermit the Frog plushie.
He asked Taylor to hold onto the doll that suspiciously resembled Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. It had a tiny jersey with the 28-year-old’s team number on the backside. Taylor immediately put the doll in his right hand like a ventriloquist, making fun of Mahomes.

Even though Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce got the better of the Chiefs and even forced a pick-6 from the Mahomes in their Christmas matchup last season, the 6-time pro bowler is 10-2 against them in the regular season. Ironically, the Chiefs played a playoff game at Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium before the Raiders themselves and even won the Lombardi Trophy.
So, the Raiders don’t have much leverage in poking fun at the Kansas franchise, which might record an unprecedented three-peat. They need to back up Pierce’s claim of concocting the best plan to stop Mahomes when the two sides meet on October 27.
What plan did Antonio Pierce devise to get the better of Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs?
The Christmas loss to the Raiders left a big scar on the Chiefs. At one point, it appeared as if they would miss out on the playoffs because of the drops and frequent outbursts from players during games.
Head coach Andy Reid later shed light on the picture of the Chiefs locker room after the game. He said it was a learning curve for the players, which lit a fire under them, and the rest is history.
Pierce, on the other hand, learned a ton from the game. He applied full pressure on Mahomes from the edge rushers, which was apparently a plan derived from Michael Jordan‘s playing days. While appearing in Maxx Crosby’s The Rush podcast, Pierce revealed the situation.
We've already given the recipe of how to do it… We've got to knock off the head of the snake. Fifteen. Hate the color red.Antonio Pierce said
Antonio Pierce says they have the “Jordan Rules” for Patrick Mahomes. They want to rough him up and be physical just like the 80’s Pistons were with Michael Jordan ? pic.twitter.com/BAFbBrrVmC

Pierce borrowed the method from the Detroit Pistons of the 1980s, who locked down Michael Jordan by using a couple of blockers on him all the time. They won back-to-back NBA titles in 1989 and 1990.
If the Raiders want to seriously push for post-season football, they must beat the defending champions at least once from their two matchups. However, USA Today’s predictions revealed they will only win 6 games all season.
