The satisfaction of hearing one’s childhood idols compliment them and acknowledge the possibility of eclipsing their greatness can be compared to none. Las Vegas Raiders rookie Brock Bowers had this surreal experience recently after Rob Gronkowski complimented his game and held him in high regard.

The Georgia Bulldogs alum has been phenomenal for the Raiders and is living up to the expectations from the 13th overall pick of the draft. I think he's on track to be better than myself.

Bowers was over the moon to hear these words from his idol and responded with gratitude.

Brock Bowers had one of the most decorated college careers for a tight-end

The rookie Brock Bowers has looked up to Gronkowski as has every other tight end. And he made it clear recently.

That was pretty sweet, I grew up looking up to him. You wanna be like him, so it's pretty cool hearing that.
Brock Bowers said to the reporters

Bowers has had 156 yards so far and was just two yards shy of achieving his first 100-yard game against the Baltimore Ravens. He significantly contributed to his team’s win against Lamar Jackson & Co.

Is it surprising to see Brock Bowers is this good? No. The tight end has been a stud since college. In his debut season at Georgia, he started all 14 games and had 4 100-yard games. He played a vital role in the Bulldogs’ road to win their first national title in 40 years. He ended his college career with 175 receptions, 2,538 yards, and 31 touchdowns.

He left his alum leading the team in receptions, yards, and touchdowns in all 3 seasons and became the first player to win consecutive John Mackey Awards. Rob Gronkowski has watched his game and recognizes greatness when he sees it. Bowers excels at route-running and blocking. His explosiveness sets him apart from his peers and provided he can continue to stay healthy, he will morph into what Gronkowski expects him to, the greatest tight end of all time.
