Rajon Rondo is surely a future Hall of Famer. In his many years in the league, Rondo has seen himself evolve with many franchises. From his growth with the Boston Celtics, to his Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings and Chicago Bulls lasting for just a season. Rondo has played alongside many superstars, his most recent was LeBron James. After Rondo joined forces with Lebron in 2018, the pair did not find immediate success.

But Rondo’s contribution in the LA Lakers grabbing their most recent NBA championship is beyond description. When Anthony Davis and Lebron James found it tough in the bubble, it was Rondo who showcased his experience to lead the side on occasions. Rondo lately appeared on ‘All The Smoke’ podcast to talk about his experience playing with Lebron James.

“It was a hell of experience. Like I said, [LeBron James] was very vocal this year in film, as far as helping young guys understand what they need to be where we need to be as a team,” mentioned Rondo.

Rondo is credited as one of the most gifted players ever and his basketball IQ is unparalleled. Thus, it was indeed a delight when two great minds in Rondo and LeBron took the court together. It was a new learning experience for both athletes as well.

“I was picking his brain and studied him, his body of work, the way he moves. When I go back and watch film, I used to always watch film on myself and then I’ll watch a film of him, [Anthony Davis], and understanding where they want the bar and where they’re great at,” Rondo added on the podcast.

“So that was my mindset when I was going into it and like I said, but to be able to play with him and pick his brain daily understand his discipline, what he’s done to be able to become so dominant in year 17 and it was fun to watch and great to be next to. It was a hell of a ride these last couple of years,” added Rondo.

There is no doubt that the Lakers would miss Rondo in this season even though they have a very strong team. But let’s see how Rondo performs now that he is with the Atlanta Hawks, at least for the 2020-21 season.
