The Philadelphia Eagles had a rough day with touchdowns in the NFC Divisional round. After three-quarters of football in the snowy weather at Lincoln Field, the Eagles led the Los Angeles Rams by a single point. One minute into the fourth, the Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts led the drive with the help of running back Saquon Barkley.

Barkley dragged the Eagles inside the Rams’ 20-yard line before beating the left tackle to score a touchdown. The replay showed that he broke the plane, and the referee overturned the decision. He had to settle for a one-yard run to bring the Eagles close enough for their trademark tush push routine.

Nick Sirianni thought they finally scored six points after Hurts bundled the ball in over the white line. However, the officials interjected once again. Following an extensive debate, they overturned the touchdown.

There was still close to ten minutes left to play, and the Eagles made the most of it. Sirianni’s team took over after the Rams’ next drive ended with a punt. Hurts once again handed Barkley the heavy lifting. The All-Pro rusher beat the Rams defensive line to score a 78-yard touchdown.

Matthew Stafford reduced the score with a dot to Colby Parkinson inside the Eagles’ end zone for a four-yard touchdown. It was the last big moment in the game, and the game ended in a 22-28 win for the Eagles.

Hurts finished with 15 completions from 20 attempts for 128 yards, 7 carries for 70 yards, and one rushing touchdown (96.92 quarterback rating). Barkley logged 26 carries for 205 yards (7.85 yards per carry) and 2 rushing touchdowns along with 4 receptions for 27 yards. Wide receiver AJ Brown only caught 2 passes all night.

As for the Rams, Stafford threw 26 completions from 44 tries for 324 yards and 2 touchdowns (104.43 quarterback rating). Second-year receiver Puka Nacua had 6 for 97 yards and Cooper Kupp caught 5 passes for 61 yards.

The defeat ended the Rams pursuit of another NFC Championship game since the 2021 season. The Eagles, on the other hand, will face the Washington Commanders in the NFC title game after the team from the capital city defeated the former NFC top seed, the Detroit Lions.
