Hell in a Cell 2020 results – 14-time WWE World Champion Randy Orton
Randy Orton defeated Drew McIntyre at Hell in a Cell PPV, to become a 14 time WWE World Champion. This was the 3rd time, Orton and McIntyre were going against each other at a WWE PPV for the Championship.
At Summerslam 2020, McIntyre defeated Orton fair and square. At Clash of Champions, Orton had the upper hand in the match, but McIntyre had assistance. The Big Show, Shawn Michaels, Christian and Ric Flair, helped McIntyre in the win. But this time Orton finally managed to win the title for a record 14th time.
Orton was considered to have an advantage in the match. This was due to the fact that his opponent Drew McIntyre lacks experience inside the Hell in a Cell structure. While on the other hand, Orton has enough experience of the same. It was a bloody match, with McIntyre falling off from the cage structure, into the commentary table. They used every possible weapon – steel chair, steel pipes, tables, steel chairs in the match. Both of them simply exchanged signature moves in the ring, where Orton hit an RKO out of nowhere for the win.
Reactions
Even the WWE Universe agrees to the fact, that this was Randy’s one of the most deserved wins. He has been on fire throughout the year, especially with his “Legend Killer” gimmick. WWE even took the opportunity to launch the newest episode of their Undertaker documentary, where Taker’s relation with Randy Orton is discussed.
Now that The Viper is the Champion, it would be interesting to see the next feud he faces. McIntyre is more than likely to come after the Title. But if he has to nurse an injury sustained during the HIAC match, we may see WWE start a new feud for Orton. WWE Universe won’t have to wait long to find out, as the 14-time World Champion is expected to show up at Monday night Raw.
