Randy Orton and John Cena share more history with each other than any two active members on the WWE roster. The promotion has turned the latter’s heel turn into a huge deal and portrayed it as something that has affected everyone, even if they are not directly involved in that storyline. Thus, fans could not wait to find out what The Viper had to say about this whole situation.

The latest episode of SmackDown featured Orton’s first promo since his return to WWE last Saturday. During his segment, he mentioned that Cena had always been at the top of this profession. However, now he was nothing more than a bottom for The Rock. Of course, this was a wordplay on the Final Boss’ finisher, “The Rock Bottom,” and a reference to the Cenation leader selling out and turning heel at the Elimination Chamber.

Orton is not the only one who has an issue with this Hollywood duo. The latest episode of Raw also featured a promo from CM Punk. He is probably the person who shares the second-most history with Cena, right after the Apex Predator. During his segment on Raw, he also went off on the two biggest superstars in WWE for their actions at the Elimination Chamber.

The 14x World Champion has a lot on his plate to get involved with another storyline. He made his WWE return at the Elimination Chamber and stopped Kevin Owens from piledriving Sami Zayn onto the floor. Furthermore, he hit a devastating RKO onto the Prizefighter and laid him out. If history is any guide, the former Universal Champion will not let this go and will surely come after the Apex Predator.

Randy Orton reveals he almost had to retire following Kevin Owens’ devastating piledriver

Randy Orton’s promo on the latest episode of SmackDown was filled with several memorable moments apart from this dig at John Cena and The Rock. He vowed to take down Kevin Owens, who had put him on the shelf 4 months ago after a piledriver. He heartbreakingly revealed that following this incident, the doctors had asked him to step away from the squared circle completely.

Randy Orton has faced back issues throughout his career. These injuries had put him out of action during 2022 and 2023 as well. Thus, taking a piledriver could’ve been too much. However, The Viper made it clear that he was hungry to get revenge and was not stepping away from wrestling anytime soon.

Later during the show, Nick Aldis announced that Orton would face Carmelo Hayes next week on SmackDown, which emanates from Barcelona, Spain. These two superstars even had a backstage interaction during the show, taking shots at each other.
