The Backlash PLE in France was a huge success for WWE. The Lyon crowd was ecstatic and will be considered one of, if not the greatest, professional wrestling crowds of all time. While the audience popped for almost every superstar they got to witness, one star they showed extra love to was Randy Orton.

In an interview with Adam’s Apple, the 44-year-old talked about the love shown to him by the French crowd. Randy Orton mentioned that he has had the same entrance song since 2009. However, until this point, no American crowd had ever sung along to his song. The Viper further added that France did it for three nights in a row.

The former WWE Champion took on The Bloodline alongside Kevin Owens at the PLE. He was blown away by the reactions he got both at Backlash and on SmackDown the night before. He added that the difference between American and European crowds was like night and day. The wrestling veteran recalled his first two shows from the recent European tour, which were in Bologna, Italy, and Vienna, Austria. He revealed that he could hear them singing along to his song in those arenas as well.

Since 2009, I’ve had the same entrance song. No American crowd has ever sang along to my song. And they did it in France three nights in a row.

The Viper described the French crowd as “mind-blowing.” The 2017 Royal Rumble winner added that it made for an amazing environment. Additionally, he hoped that the company would do more PLEs in France and Europe. Without a doubt, the WWE Universe in Lyon was happy to be there and were on their feet throughout the show.

Randy Orton confirms story about his behavior narrated by Cody Rhodes

Upon his return to the WWE in 2022, Cody Rhodes shared a story about the Viper’s wild behavior on a WWE tour. Orton had high hopes for The American Nightmare and thus took him under his wing. While the duo was part of the Legacy stable, the WWE Undisputed Champion used to drive around the Legend Killer.

During a tour in South Africa, Orton ripped off a urinal in a public bathroom with his bare hands. The 38-year-old mentioned that there was no reason for the Apex Predator to do so other than for the heck of it. The wrestling veteran even joined others and pretended to help them search for the culprit.

In an interview with Jazzys World TV, Randy Orton said that Cody Rhodes was known to exaggerate his stories, and he didn’t remember the entire situation. However, he confirmed the story to be true. He added that there was a bit of flooding after he ripped off the urinal. The 14-time world champion added that he did not get in trouble, which was all that mattered.
