Cody Rhodes finally finished his story when he became the Undisputed WWE Champion after defeating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL. At one point in his career, he wouldn’t have believed himself to become a world champion, but one person had already predicted that he would reach the top. The name in question is Rhodes’ dear friend and mentor, Randy Orton.

Randy Orton took to X and reminisced about his prediction on Cody Rhodes 13 years ago. On April 6, 2011, The Viper shared a post in which he stated that The American Nightmare had improved from the last time they were in a ring together. He also predicted that he could potentially see Rhodes as the world champion. Thus, his prediction came true when he toppled The Tribal Chief.

The 38-year-old star sees Orton as his mentor. He was with him in The Legacy at the start of his career and learned a lot from him. He often shared the stories of the ridiculous shenanigans The Viper used to do during their time together. It was a proud moment for The American Nightmare, as Orton also entered the ring to celebrate his historic win at WrestleMania XL.

Both stars experienced different outcomes at the recently concluded Backlash event. Rhodes retained his title by defeating AJ Styles in the main event. Meanwhile, the Orton and Kevin Owens duo could not beat The Bloodline due to Tonga Loa‘s interference. Although The Apex Predator is one of the good guys, fans are clamoring for him to turn heel and witness an iconic feud between the student and the mentor.

Despite playing a menacing heel for almost all of his career, Randy Orton is one of the nicest people in WWE. Fans witnessed one of his good deeds recently when he saved a fan’s phone during a live event ahead of Backlash.

During a house show in Vienna, Austria, a fan accidentally dropped his phone while recording. However, it caught the attention of the 14-time world champion, as he picked up the phone and even recorded himself with fans before giving it back. His small gesture of picking up the phone certainly made that fan’s day.

Orton is one of the most beloved superstars in WWE today. Needless to say, he is enjoying the last few years of his career before he finally hangs his boots.
