Randy Orton has established himself as one of the biggest stars in professional wrestling. He has broken the mainstream barrier and is a name widely recognized in pop culture as a whole, rather than only in professional wrestling. Being the huge celebrity he is, he was recently asked to throw the ceremonial first pitch for his home team.
The St. Louis Cardinals took on the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday. Moreover, the match took place at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, where the hometown hero also made an appearance. The Apex Predator was wearing a Cardinals jersey as he walked onto the pitch.
Randy Orton threw the breaking ball, which went high and was caught by Alec Burleson. The Legend Killer felt relieved after the throw and gave a hug to the first baseman. Later on, the SmackDown superstar went on to meet several Cardinals players and wish them well for the game. He claimed it was one of the hardest things he had ever done. Furthermore, the former WWE Champion felt elated when the ball didn’t go into the dirt.
Orton even said that Burleson may have a career in professional wrestling in the future, as he was a great athlete. He believed that the entire team had put in a great deal of dedication to get to where they were, which could also apply to the wrestling world if they chose to enter the industry.
Tommy Dreamer discusses Randy Orton challenging Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship
Gunther didn’t have to wait long for his first challenger as World Heavyweight Champion. A mere two days after winning the title, Orton made a surprise appearance on Raw to confront The Ring General. The Legend Killer will now challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship at Bash in Berlin. The prospect of this match has excited fans and wrestlers alike, including Tommy Dreamer.

Speaking on Busted Open After Dark, Dreamer appreciated the grounded tone in Orton’s challenge. WWE had successfully pulled the World Heavyweight Championship away from the dramatic storyline of The Judgment Day. Hence, these two superstars could have an incredibly grounded match away from the soap opera storylines.
Triple H had to basically say the referee messed up. In the world of professional wrestling we can make good on anything and that’s what they did.

Their match could focus on the title, and they would battle only to prove who the better wrestler is rather than drama. Their King of the Ring match, which ended with Gunther winning in a controversial manner, could further fuel the fire between these two storylines.
