Barcelona skipper Raphinha handed youngster Lamine Yamal with the La Liga Player of the Month award, ahead of their massive 5-1 win over Sevilla. The Barca number 19 was given a much-deserved standing ovation and applause by fans at the stadium.
Lamine Yamal has gone from strength to strength despite his young age of just 17. He has already established himself as a world class forward, with many backing him to emulate the likes of Barcelona legends, Lionel Messi and Johan Cruyff.
The young forward, most recently, claimed the La Liga Player of the Month award for the month of September. He scored three goals and provided an assist in four La Liga matches last month. Barca went on to win three out of those four matches.
The 17-year-old young La Masia prodigy, who is among the front-runners to win the Golden Boy award, was handed the POTM trophy at the Estadi Lluis Companys. In the minutes leading to the heated contest, Yamal showed off his award to the crowd as they cheered on.
It was handed to him by Barcelona teammate Raphinha, who had won it in the month of August. The two players are now tied on goal contributions for the club, having scored six goals and provided six assists each.

Meanwhile, Lamine Yamal, despite an injury scare, featured against Sevilla and provided an assist for Pedri to score the second goal. The La Masia prodigy has now provided six assists in the opening ten matches of the league, equaling Lionel Messi’s previous record, set in 2014.
Barcelona players celebrate defender Jules Kounde’s 100th match for the club
Jules Kounde reached the 100-match mark with FC Barcelona in the game against his former side Sevilla. The Catalan club and its players celebrated the defender’s achievement by handing him a jersey with the number 100 written on it after the match.
After having made a move from Sevilla in 2022, the 25-year-old Frenchman sealed his place as a first choice right-back in the team.

Meanwhile, in his two full seasons at the Catalan club, Kounde has won a La Liga title and a Spanish Super Cup. It also puts him in the eighth position on the list of French players with the most appearances for Barca, way behind top-placed Eric Abidal (193 matches).
