Raquel Rodriguez revealed in December 2023 that she had been diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, or MCAS for short. Symptoms of this health disorder can include itching, flushing, skin rashes, redness, and skin lesions. The WWE Universe has been praying for a speedy recovery for the Latina Superstar, who recently provided an update on her health.
Raquel Rodriguez recently uploaded an Instagram story in which she was present at the Alliance Regenerative Medical Center of Clermont, Florida. She was getting blood work done as a precautionary check, including her hormones, thyroid, and more. Rodriguez revealed visiting the hospital alongside her father, who was seen giving his blood for testing.
Rodriguez also said that she was getting treatment in the hyperbaric chamber. In another story, she spoke about Alliance Regenerative partnering up with RejuvStem Clinic in Mexico for cellular therapy. She claimed to have been going through the same treatment and that her skin looked and felt better than it had in months.
The last time fans saw Rodriguez in a WWE ring was in February. She had participated in the women’s Elimination Chamber. Her condition was highly aggravated at the time, and she looked much different than usual. Regardless, she put on a great performance during the match. After having another match on the Raw following the PLE, she took a break from wrestling to focus on her health.
What will Raquel Rodriguez do upon returning to WWE?
Reports released last month revealed internal talk within the company about Raquel Rodriguez making her return to WWE programming. Before the 33-year-old took a leave of absence, she was part of Raw and will likely return to the red brand. She could engage in a feud with Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, with whom she has plenty of history.
The two superstars formed a tag team and won the Women’s Tag Team Championship twice. Liv Morgan has had a complete switch of character during the Latina Superstar’s absence. This, along with their past, could be used wonderfully during this feud.
Alternatively, Rodriguez could return on SmackDown as a viable challenger for Nia Jax and the WWE Women’s Championship. The blue brand seems to be lacking in main-event talent on their singles women’s roster. Furthermore, she could help Bayley overcome the odds against the duo of the champion and Money in the Bank winner, Tiffany Stratton.
