As the most prestigious event in lawn tennis, the Wimbledon continues to rock and roll, the audience had a known visitor from the cricketing world and that is none other than former Indian coach and iconic Indian commentator, Ravi Shastri.
In fact, the presence of Ravi Shastri was not missed by Wimbledon as they took to Instagram to dedicate a separate post for the one who carved the iconic line ‘like a tracer bullet’. After being a part of the fabled narrative where Team India lifted the hallowed silverware in Barbados and with Shastri calling that iconic moment like 2011 again, he flew all the way to London to savour the most iconic tennis fray of all time.
The post did garner traction from the fans where they all thought that the admin behind this move had to be Indian or it was a regional post to win over the huge Indian tennis fans. Previously Wimbledon posted a snap of Rohit Sharma eating a slice of mud while placing his snap adjacent to that of Novak Djokovic.
The entire world went berserk when Team India went onto win the T20 World Cup at the expense of a crestfallen South Africa in the grand finale. They finished on an unbeaten run vanquishing the likes of Ireland, Pakistan, USA, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Australia, England and eventually the Proteas.
Ravi Shastri was a part of the commentary panel for all the games and led the charge whenever India took centerstage. Now that the grander tapestry of schemes have been done, a good game of Wimbledon doesn’t hurt and the former Indian coach is all in for some smashing lawn tennis contest.
Here’s how Wimbledon 2024 has looked so far
This year’s Wimbledon has already seen some great games taking shape where the icons of the sport or the known seeds of brilliance have already taken flight. In one of the latest clashes, Daniil Medvedev went onto defeat the French sensation, Alexandre Muller.
