The India vs. Pakistan situation off the field has escalated to a level not many would have thought it would. Ex cricketers of both countries have taken a jibe at each other and have passed some really strong comments in recent times.

It all began when the Indian team refused to shake hands with the Pakistan team after their group stage game in Dubai. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav further went on to dedicate the win to the Pahalgam terror attack victims.

The major Pakistani stalwarts from the 1990s and 2000s, Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Yousuf, were a few who had rather controversial takes. Indian off-spin great, Ravichandran Ashwin has replied in his own iconic way to the comments made by both Afridi and Yousuf.

I don’t want to use that exact word. Never argue with people who are below your IQ level. There is actually another word for it but I would like to refine it and use the word ‘level’. When I have more information on something and the other doesn’t, he will not argue with me based on logic. Rather he would bring you down to his level and defeat you in that contest handsomely…So please don’t drop your level and try to match theirs. We will believe in our truth. Our truth is cricket, on the field, we are doing a great job.

Ashwin passed bold remarks to silence the unnecessary criticism that is making its way in Pakistan. And it’s not a big surprise coming from the legendary Indian offie who has always been straightforward with his takes.

Andy Pycroft to stay match referee for the all-important India vs. Pakistan clash despite all the fiasco

Despite all the complaints lodged from the Pakistan Cricket Board around the suspension of match referee Andy Pycroft, the Zimbabwe match official will continue to be part of the India vs. Pakistan game. In the previous encounter between the two teams Pakistan had lodged a serious complaint against Pycroft suggesting that he was taking the side of the Indian team.

However, the ICC came down strongly in response saying that Pycroft had minimal involvement in the entire no-handshake fiasco. Pakistan had demanded that Pycroft should not play the role of a match referee in their upcoming matches. With ICC disagreeing that, Pycroft was the match referee for the Pakistan vs. UAE game.

It was understood that both the PCB and Pycroft came to a peaceful conclusion and the team agreed to Pycroft being a part of their matches. However, one would have expected the ICC to specifically change the referee for the India vs. Pakistan game which, in the first place brought in all the drama.
