IPL 2021: WATCH – Ravindra Jadeja catches KL Rahul short of the crease with a bullet throw

Ravindra Jadeja runs out KL Rahul

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) came up with an inspired performance in the Powerplay after putting their opponent Punjab Kings (PBKS) in to bat. Deepak Chahar was the hero as he picked up three wickets by removing Mayank Agarwal, Chris Gayle and Nicholas Pooran. KL Rahul was also dismissed within the Powerplay by a piece of fielding brilliance by one of the best in the business in Ravindra Jadeja.

Chahar struck in the first over to remove Agarwal as he had an outswinger rip past the batsman and bowl him. It was then that Rahul was run-out before a knuckle-ball from Chahar accounted for Gayle with Jadeja taking a diving catch. Later, Pooran followed his West Indian teammate to the pavilion by hitting a bouncer straight to the deep square leg fielder to leave Punjab Kings reeling in the Powerplay.

In the 3rd over of PBKS’ innings, Gayle was struggling to get going and open up as Deepak Chahar was breathing fire. It was then that an LBW appeal followed by a quick run attempt brought the downfall of KL Rahul. Gayle poked a delivery in to the vacant space near backward point and hesitated a bit before the duo decided to take on Ravindra Jadeja, the fielder, of all people to get a run.

Jadeja just had one stump to aim at as he came charging in. With one swift motion, the all-rounder picked up the ball and thundered a throw at the stumps. The stumps were taken out by the bullet throw and Rahul was found short of the crease. It was a key moment in the game and Jadeja proved once again as to why he is one of the best fielders at present.
