Ravindra Jadeja stunned Indian fans on Friday with a cryptic post shared on his Instagram story. He posted the picture of the jersey that he wore in the final Test match of the series against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground. This has made the fans speculate that the Indian all-rounder is set to announce his retirement from Test cricket soon.
Jadeja was part of the playing XI in the last three of the five Test matches and was not at his best with his performances. He scored 135 runs across five innings and managed to scalp just four wickets. Jadeja did not trouble the batters with his deliveries and even struggled to hold his end tight, which he had been a master of in Test cricket.
The Indian all-rounder has already announced his retirement from T20I cricket after India won the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024. He has been a sensational performer in all three facets of the game but has struggled to maintain his consistency in recent matches.

Jadeja also struggled and was not at his usual best in the three-match home test series against New Zealand, in which India were defeated 3-0.
Due to his underwhelming performances, fans and critics are questioning his spot in the Indian Test team and also the ODI team. The Indian all-rounder did not have a good ODI World Cup 2023 while batting at number seven in the playing XI.
Ravindra Jadeja was left out of the ODI series in Sri Lanka
With the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in sight, teams have already started preparing for it. Jadeja last played ODI cricket in the final of the World Cup 2023 against Australia. He was left out of the ODI squad in Sri Lanka, and reports per sources from BCCI revealed that head coach Gautam Gambhir is looking to move away from the Indian all-rounder in the ODI format and prepare a strong core for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
It remains to be seen whether Jadeja is part of the three-match ODI series against England at home. The all-rounder was part of the T20 World Cup in 2024 and featured in all the matches.
He could manage to score 35 runs at an average of 11.66 and pick up just one wicket. Washington Sundar and Axar Patel have grown in stature, and hence, it is going to be a tough time for Jadeja.
