Days away from Saturday Night’s Main Event, Gunther and Finn Balor kicked off the latest episode of Raw. The World Heavyweight Champion berated Balor for “cutting corners” over the past couple of years while playing second fiddle to Damian Priest. The latter’s music hit as he returned to take down The Judgment Day. A brawl ensued, which ended with the Balor and the faction standing tall. As such, this prompted GM Adam Pearce to take action.
Following this opening segment, Pearce approached Balor and The Judgment Day backstage. Due to what transpired, the general manager revealed that the World Heavyweight Championship match would now be a triple threat involving Priest. Furthermore, Adam Pearce announced that the War Raiders will challenge Balor and JD McDonagh for the World Tag Team Titles on next week’s Raw episode.
Despite the odds being stacked against him, Finn Balor expressed confidence ahead of the retro event. According to him, defeating both Gunther and Priest would do him a double favor. For the first time since SummerSlam 2023, Balor will compete for the World Heavyweight Championship. The Prince has long yearned for a golden opportunity and will hope to capitalize on it this time.

As for the World Tag Titles, Pearce has been frustrated by the lack of title defenses by The Judgment Day. Reigning as champs for over 168 days, the duo has only defended the championships twice. To make it a fair fight, Pearce added that the rest of the faction would be banned from ringside. Having said that, an important week lies ahead for the group with three title defenses in store for them.
Liv Morgan set to take on IYO SKY at Saturday Night’s Main Event
Finn Balor isn’t the only Judgment Day member who will compete at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Liv Morgan will also be in action on the same night as she defends her Women’s World Championship against IYO SKY.
SKY earned the opportunity to face Morgan a month ago when she won a women’s battle royal. The two then met inside WarGames at Survivor Series, in which SKY’s team emerged victorious. Morgan faced SKY’s Damage CTRL teammate, Dakota Kai, on last night’s Raw.
The Women’s World Champion emerged victorious following interference from Pure Fusion Collective. After the match, SKY and Kairi Sane came out to save their friend. However, Morgan took advantage of the situation by delivering an Oblivion on her challenger, standing tall on the go-home episode.
